New Zealand Beat Bangladesh in 1st ODI of series,2016-17

Bangladesh was scheduled to play a 3 Match ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL Series in New Zealand in 2016-17. This series was important as both teams were playing very good cricket and it would be great to witness them playing in bilateral series. The 1st ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL Match was to be played on Hagley Oval, Christchurch, New Zealand on 26th Dec, 2016.

New Zealand started well and aggressively and was only able to make total of 341 runs 50 over’s at the loss of 7 wickets and top scored by Tom L who made 137 runs in 121 balls with 7 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 113 runs in 100 balls.

And Colin M who made 87 runs in 61 balls with 8 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 143 runs in 100 balls.

Bangladesh was needed to score 342 runs in 50 over’s to win this 1st ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL Match and take 1-0 lead in 3match ODI series.

Bangladesh batted well but total of 342 runs is always going to be tough and even impossible for Bangladesh to chase and kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was bowled out for only 264 runs in only 44.5 over’s and top scored by S A hasan who made 59 runs in 54 balls with 5 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 109 runs in 100 balls and M H Saikat who made 50 runs in 44 balls with 5 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 114 runs in 100 balls.

New Zealand won the match by 77 runs and leads the series 1-0.
