It’s been a while since I stamped my nails! Believe me, I badly wanted to do something artsy to my nails but as always – time is against me. I usually paint my nails every Friday so when I go out during the weekends, I have polished nails! And I was lucky enough to be able to do it last Friday, whew! Finally!
Anyway, I have been going gaga winning eBay auctions on stamping plates, which I have yet to write a review. Argh! I wanted to do a proper review and try out the new stamping plates but missed some of my existing Born Pretty stamping plates, too! So I settled for a stamping plate that’s already a part of my collection.
As always, I make sure I have everything I need within arms reach. It is harder to fiddle inside my nail polish bag once I have painted nails already! For this, I wanted to have a blue nail polish with stamped butterflies in it. However, I want to play around it a bit and have an accent nail of metallic silver polish on my pointer finger.
To get started, I applied one layer of clear base coat on my nails. I waited for it to dry before applying the first layer of Barry M’s GNP 27. I really love this shade and adored how it looks on my nails. The first layer is super pigmented already but there are some parts of the nails where there are tiny color gaps in between – so a second layer is necessary to even it out.
I usually wait in between nail polish layers, which is approximately 2-3 minutes per application. I can easily pass the time while surfing the net or clicking on ads through my phone anyway, so this is no biggie to me.
When the first layer is dry, I apply the next layer of the blue nail polish. After this application, I have to wait for about 5 minutes before I stamp my nails.
While waiting to dry, I applied the accent color of metallic silver. As you can see, I made a slight boo-boo. I applied the Barry M nail polish on my right pointer so I decided to just slather some metallic silver lines in it.
After waiting for the Barry M polish to dry, I got ready to stamp. For the nail stamp polish, I simply used a beige nail polish (I don’t know what it was) that has gotten a bit thick already. I was quite happy with the results, to be honest. I have a few finger nails with really vibrant and vivid stamps! Yay!
After nail stamping, I waited (again) to dry the nail stamped nails. It is crucial you do so as you don’t want to smear off the stamps! Unfortunately for some of my fingernails, they were not too dry yet so this step is important!
Once the stamps were dry enough, I applied one coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri to finish the look!
