I joined many affiliate program as a person who wanted to make money. At first I had no website. I used to join free hosting sites and try to make money through it. And then I tried to buy the hosting. I used to hustle and make sites. And try to monetize them. But it seems like that didn’t worked. And I spent more than a decade on such sites. Earned nothing. I worked hard enough for making money. But all hustle has to end somewhere if it is not going to make money in the process. So I have managed to learn some lessons. You may benefit from them if you are serious about it then this post can help you.
Commission Junction
Most of the sites they accept on their network are high traffic website. And they often reject you and your leads. That makes them more dishonest network. They survived many years doing this type of cheating. Many people called them out on those cheats. But it seems they are going to stay here for that. And we can’t do anything about it. I guess its just that business people trust them with that.
Clickbank
One of the spammy network where most of the products and offers are nothing but spam. And you learn nothing from those products. Most of the products are high priced. And there is nothing serious from them. So promoting them puts you in question. Why are you promoting spam. Google doesn’t like the sites which promote the spam. I think this is one reason many clickbank sites are less these days.
LinkShare
One of the most harder network to make money. Most of the companies under their umbrella never sell a thing. I wonder how many affiliates are actually getting paid from them. I personally found that not many people are getting paid and not worth joining for some programs being offered. In fact some programs are as good as nothing. And the commission percentage is not that good either. So you have lot of things to hustle there. Just learn from your experience and see where it takes you.
Viglink
I have some luck with this program. Though they didn’t pay me regularly. And some of the links just stopped working. I am guessing that they were not match for my site. So not worth using. I think for some blogs this can earn well if you are regularly using those links. But I am thinking about how to use those sites on regular basis. I am just thinking there are some times when such program just don’t work anymore. I guess all depends on niche and the traffic. I wish to use this program again.
As you can see affiliate programs are hit and miss. And some are good and some are worst. So it all comes down to how much you are spending time. And how much traffic you are bringing to the sites. That decides your earning capacity with such programs. But keep pushing if you can that’s how many got successful.

Affiliate programs are a hit or miss for some. Then for others it's a regular cash cow. It has a lot to do with picking a good niche, getting traffic to your sites, advertising in the right places, etc. I have earned but not consistently. I want consistent regular earnings. If others can do it, I know it can be done. So I'm not quitting! If I can sign up for the authorized affiliate program free, I give it a shot!
We like this kind of article, its good. Whats your take on Amazon Affiliate system. You have missed this one in your list. Have you ever tried one? This can be more informative if you shed little light on Amazon Affiliate program.
Thanks
I always wanted to try out affiliate marketing as it seems to be a good way to generate some income too, but I have yet to set up my blog. It is good that you have put so much efforts in it and even started learning and going through some challenging moments. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am not familiar with those opportunities you mentioned, I will need to check them out.
I agree with Support, I have seen many blogger posting Amazon product links, I think it should be a good option. I also recently come across Ultimate Bundles, where many bloggers are promoting it too. I am going to give it a try. Besides these two, I have also signed up to Book Depository affiliate program as I always buy books from this online book store, so I think it is good for me to promote their website and maybe I can earn a little bit extra income too.
