Last year i went on a trip to Timisoara in Romenia for a international course they had about sustainable development around the world. This course was attended by 6 people from various countries such as Spain, Italy, Romenia (their locals also joined us), Netherlands and Portugal.
While their we all had to speak English for everyone to understand.
Depending on your country you would have to pay an entrance fee to participate. Since we were from the Azores, Portugal we only payed 40 euros each. The rest (hotel, food, plane and train tickets) were all paid for.
Our organization didnt plan our trip right so we got their 2 days late and had to leave 2 days earlier due to all the travel. Just to get to Romenia we had to fly from Azores to Lisbon, wait a day, then Lisbon to Istambul in Turkey and from then we flew to Bucarest. The traveling part didnt end here. We still had to catch a 30min bus to the train station and a 10 hour long train to Timisoara.
It was a long trip and we were all tired but the experience was awesome. The people at the course were spectacular. The place itself was amazing. We had some days off just to roam around to do some site seeing. We took a day and went around town to see their city and buy some souvenirs and took another day to go to a pool they had there that was amazing. You would pay 3 euros to get in (in their currency of course) and you could be there all day long in whichever ppol you liked most, we went to the bigger one. At the pool we went to there was a DJ, a pool in the bar (the money there is plastic) and some bars inside. We layed our towels on the grass and hung out the whole day around the pool.
In general it was a very good experience, i had never went to any other part of Europe and had a blast. It was a beautiful place to go to, the people in Timisoara are very nice and helpful.
It is an experience to repeat for sure. I am hoping to one day go back there and visit again.
