The first thought that comes to our mind when we talk of dogs and cats is that they cannot get along. In fact the saying ‘Fighting like cats and dogs’ has a permanent standing. This thinking is wrong. There are so many cases where the rarest companionship have been recorded which included a monkey and a dog, pig and a hen and so on.
It depends on how animals are brought up living together. I have some interesting stories to narrate.
Our Bull terrier whom we named Rana and our cat Kittie were the best of friends. They bonded in a manner that is difficult to believe.
When Rana was brought home the first thing our cat did was to scratch him. That confirmed our belief that cats and dogs cannot get along.
But by and by we were amazed at their bonding.
Kittie would lick Rana clean after his bath. After Rana did his job Kittie would pull soil over it just as cats do with their own species.
When it was time for Kittie to deliver her babies she would want Rana around. Rana would pick those kittens from the basket gently and give them a good lick and put them back.
They even ate from the same plate.
They shared the same bed and in fact Rana would make room for Kittie and her babies.
That’s about Rana and Kittie.
Our latest pair was Preiti the dog and Gamma the rooster.
It took them a while to trust each other and once that stage was passed their togetherness was amazing. They would go for strolls together, relax in the garden together. They would even have a conversation in their own language.
From our experience how this comes about is when we let them be together under vigilance. A bit of warning when they try to attack each at the beginning will go a long way in them having trust in each other.

There are so many behaviours of animals. They have the sense of warmness to their masters. I have three dogs and a cat. They loved each other. Most of the time, I can see them playing at the backyard.
It is only those who have witnessed such bonding will know that animals do get along with species other than their own
That's so cuuutttteee :-D We also have pets in our house. We have ducks and chickens. They seem to be talking at times and they also play with our dog jingjing. I enjoy seeing them hang out with each other.
I can imagine that scene of your dog and ducks and chickens all mixing and mingling. Must be such a great sight.
You say right my friend really most of the people do not about the nature of animal and more than this man does not his own nature because animal can live together if we tame together at home we all have seen they live together and play together even the animal of opposite nature as dog and cat, snake and man, lion and man....
But alas, man is full of wisdom and cannot live together even brothers and sisters at one home under the parents' protection and guideline. Where is the problem lies?
As we all see man' separation from from, man's separation from wife, man's separation from children, man's separation from friends, man's separation from relatives, man's separation from nature, man's separation from God and man's separation from universe...
What we are doing give example of fierce animal they live together we human beings cannot live together , I ask, why? ask you heart! what is reason behind it nothing hate and jealousy, the princess of darkness had made our hearts black with smoke of greed, hate and jealousy.
We all human beings will have to think to save our future generation.
