Movie watch Radar: Mission Impossible IV: The Ghost Protocol(Hollywood Movie:2011)

We all have our own reasons to watch the movies. We watch movies because:

1)The movie has one or more of our favorite stars.

2)We like movies based on romantic love stories and one of our favorite actors- whether male or female is in that movie.

3)We like realistic movies and there is a movie with new actors, but the script is strong and realistic and we go and watch the movie.

4)We know that a movie will not have too solid a story but will have a popular actor or two, and will have lots of action and related drama.

Mission Impossible IV – The Ghost protocol is the Fourth movie in the Mission Impossible series- the first movie was released in 1996. So we had movies in 1996, 2000, then 2008 and 2011.

A last one was released last year 2015- MI5: The Rogue Nation

MI4 falls in the fourth category that I talked about.

May be in terms of script, it is not something that someone who believes in great quality of script will believe but the movie had lot of action, suspense and drama shown in a gripping way, and this is what matters to many(a bit to me also).

In brief the story us as follows:

Ethan Hunt(Tom Cruise) and his team of IMF (an International espionage group) are sent on a secret mission to Kremlin in Russia. They have to get the identity of the terrorist Kurt Hendricks, a.k.a. Cobalt, but things go wrong.

Cobalt gets Kremlin bombed and Ethan and his team are blamed. Ethan, along with his team manages to escape.

The team is disowned and a “Ghost Protocol” is invoked.

However, Ethan and his team does not give up and they first travel to Dubai and then to Mumbai to battle Cobalt and his people, and avoid a catastrophic nuclear missile attack that could trigger a nuclear war.

On this mission, Ethan and his team overcome many odds and foil the plan of Cobalt.

The Movie has some great stunts, something that we see a lot in Mission Impossible series, but the one where Tom Cruise climbs many floors on the windows of Dubai’s Burj Dubai is a standout.

There is a chase scene in the deadly sandstorm of Dubai where visibility is near zero.

Anil Kapoor has quite a short role too, but he did get a chance to share the sets with Tom Cruise which he relished.

One thing was that a multi-level parking shown in Mumbai seemed to be like from some other country.

Also, In India, we have right hand driven vehicles and Tom Cruise is shown driving a left handed big size vehicle with ease.

My guess is that the scene was not shot in Mumbai actually.

Overall, if you like action movies, then this is a one time watch movie for you.

And if you are a diehard fan of Tom Cruise, I am sure you must have watched this movie.

    • I know Tom Cruise has always been popular. But I'm not a big fan. As for the Mission Impossible movies. The old Mission Impossible TV series was much better. The first MI film wasn't all that and the sequels after it got worse.

          • I'll have to think about it. I don't usually go too far back when writing reviews or suggesting TV shows or movies. I had another online friend who wrote about nothing but old TV shows. Many of them are available on a site called TV Land. :)

    • I have seen the movie is the best and interesting due to many reasons because it was the basic theme how to make impossible to possible in real life.

IMF agent Ethan Hunt, who's been out for sometime, is given another mission. He has to break into the Kremlin to obtain some information. He gets in but when he gets to where he is suppose to go, the information is not there. And at the same moment, in another part of the building someone kills some people and takes some sensitive material.
He then taps into Ethan's frequency, pretending to be part of his team. Ethan then calls an abort and just as he was leaving, the Kremlin explodes. Ethan is knocked out and wakes up in a hospital handcuffed to a bed and questioned by a Russian agent who thinks he's responsible for what happened.

Ethan escapes and calls the Secretary who meets him with an aide named Brandt. Ethan gives them a description of the man he thinks is responsible and is told he's a rogue scientist. Ethan is told that IMF is being shut down.

And since he's wanted, he is told by the Secretary that he can either turn himself in or go out and find the man responsible. That's when they're attacked by the Russian who thinks Ethan is the one responsible.

The Secretary is killed, Ethan and Brandt escape and join two other agents and they set out to find the man and clear the IMF.

      Really a very interesting movie.
