Movie Watch Radar: 1 Oct 2016 : The Movie Monsters University (Hollywood: 2013)

Disney-Pixar combination’s animated movies

I have now seen quite a number of movies by PIXAR(I think this was a company launched by Steven Spielberg??)like CARS.

Then, we have had movies by Disney in the sphere of animation movies like the classics: Snowwhite, Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, Tinker Bell and many more.

Now, I think may be some of these movies could also have been a tie-up between Pixar and Disney.

Yet here is a movie which is a Disney and Pixar joint venture. This movie also showcases the fact that Disney and Pixar are great at making animated movies, which are the favorites of not only the children, but of the elders as well.

This movie was released in 2013 and is named “Monsters University”.

The story in brief and my opinion

The story in itself is not very novel, but it has a certain amount of fun element The story is about a small sized monster Michael”Mike” Wazowski, who wants to become a famed name in the monsters’ world. For this he must become a scarer and frighten Human beings’ kids and the scream energy generated powers the monster world.

He tries hard and manages to join the Monsters Univ. He works very hard, but his shortcoming on generating fear producing screams is not sufficient.

Eventually he ties up with another arrogant monster “Sullivan”.

The story then moves to rivalry between the two, which in a selfish motive changes to friendship.

Both make some mistakes but eventually develop powers to become scarers and make a mark.

The story is ok, but the movie looks so predictable and some scenes fail to incite interest.

Some scenes do satisfy but overall, I find it to be a a not so special. May be this is good to watch when telecast on TV.

But certain scenes are quite entertaining.

Perhaps, the story could have been worked upon a bit more.

    • I have not seen that movie, but I don't have a doubt that the audience are amused. I bet. From the title itself, it may not imply real monster that attack people, it might be all about something that imposes strong discipline. It might be a culture-based movie. I hope I am right on my nice guess,LOL.

    • A friend recommended this a few years back. I forgot about it. Now that you're mentioning it again, maybe I'll look into it for some humor and fun. :)

    • @cmoneyspinner The film did not enthuse me much. It can be a one time watch at the most. Minions or some other movies could be better bet.

@cely you are very much correct. Somehow I felt the direction was not very convincing.
