Moral Recovery Program

So what now, what the Philippine have made hundreds of thousands of alleged drug pusher and drug user voluntarily surrender to the police, what will happen next? What will the government do with them after accepting and signed that waiver that they will never return to such illegal drug activities?

Those drug personalities who returned to their illegal activities was either gunned down through police operations or killed by their former group. Those who are afraid to be killed just stay in their house and never return to it. But when police called to present themselves to police station, they are lining up.

They have no jobs so they needed some livelihood program. But police cannot provide so the local government unit is responsible for it.

Then another program these drug personalities must comply is to attend the Monday’s flag raising ceremony in the municipal or city hall of their town or city.

Another program they must commit is to participate in regreening program in their place. There should be a tree planting activity to be held and everyone must have a seedling to plant in the area. This is compulsory because tree is their hope. It symbolizes their metamorphoses from a drug addict to become a good citizen.

One program that is laudable to continue is the Moral Recovery program of them. Because it’s a moral recovery there must be a priest, pastors or ministers to give them good values through the biblical verses.

To make it happen, the program is held on weekly schedule. Every week, one pastor or priests are scheduled to come and give them the biblical passage. The next week is another one. This is helpful because they are really guided to the right path. Path to their salvation. Renewal.

More than their livelihood program, it should be their moral attitude and habit that should be given importance. This should be their gateway to be a better person.
