    • It is a supply and demand ratio. More demand would mean less supply and so the rate goes up. This is the case with all commodities.

      • Yes, that is true. We studied this in College – the law of demand and supply.

Though, even if they didn’t but the commodity in a higher price because they have an existing stock, they really would mark up their price since they know that the demand is high. Whether it’s more expensive the people will buy it.

Sad though, that the people would buy because they can’t do anything since they need it that moment.

I noticed it too since yesterday. This is good because if you have nothing more to say to a comment that you have already commented back , you can just hit like for the latest comment to be acknowledged.

However, I am not comfortable with the dislike button. It could hurt the feelings of the person who commented. I just always would not…[Read more]

    • Noting down in the classroom and again rewriting with all decorations and necessary techniques using circles in place of a dot, underlying the important information may be useful to get it back into your memory during an examination may be a good idea. But it works in lower classes only. Once you catch up the steps one by one in the ladder of education system it becomes a herculean task which needs covering various subjects.

      • You’re wrong. It works in Law School, which is pretty much at the very top of the hill when it comes to hard subjects, a lot of information, and needing to think. It works.

    • All the techniques used in school studies help to keep in mind all that have been learnt in the process of teaching. The use of personal diction is not ruled out.At times the use of symbols and unique writings help only the student.

    • Note-taking also works well for me. And even when I’m done with school, I still do a lot of note-taking for research and article writing. Handwriting and copying important lines helps reinforce my understanding of the text.

    • I do that when I was in college. I rewrite all that I have taken notes in the classes I attended.

Then after rewriting , I would read them aloud. That way, I am already at least putting them in my mind.

Like you said, I put highlights in those I think are important. My highlights are of different colors. Color coding as it is said.

Pink would be the most important items and should be memorized.
Green would be those that need not be memorized but should be understood on how they are like that.

I also take time to relax after I have reviewed what I have written. I listen to music after that, or watch a nice show or eat.

    • I need not to take exam anymore for the time being and the past ten years , I only busy with napkin and breastfeeding, haha!

Anyway, I love and miss those study time when I was a student, reading and studying is the most enjoyable task in my life.

I might go back to school for further study in the future. But, e-learning is more common nowadays!

      • Even if it is elearning you want your Beat Book, you want to sit outside on the beach or in the garden, and relax and learn.

    • The best way for me to study was to re-write everything i wrote in class. The more i wrote, the more i memerized. I would sometimes just read the material various times to memerize but it was easier to memerize when i would write it down.

Your method is also a good way to. If you have a specific way to write things down that will help you learn then it becomes easier to study also.

When i was still in school i didn’t study that hard because i was a fast learner and i would just re-write my notes for coleagues and that would be my study session.

    • Your write up is well understood.I get worried over people who use other people’s work without acknowledging them. However, giving honour to whom it is due is discipline and good knowledge.

      • When you quote someone, and give attribution, it is not plagiarism. Saying; “This Book was written by…” is surely not you taking credit so is totally legal.

    • Very well written my friend.

I must say, I am not into writing posts that have facts because that indeed needs some facts that are easy to read on the internet. Though I know copying them would be plagiarizing. I might get some facts but give credit to where I get it and that’s not plagiarizing.

As to pictures, I suppose those freely displayed on google and credit google for it are free for use pictures?

Thank you for clearly explaining about these things.

      • It is perfectly legal to use facts found anywhere as long as you admit it. If I am quoting CNN or a reporter, or a definition, I give the attribution which immediately sidesteps the issue.

I would also do that too. I stare at them with glaring eyes and get their fare and give it to the driver. Then, I would say “Thank you Ha?”. And the person would timidly say “Thank You.”

I know , other people might think I am so sensitive, but I guess that’;s how it is with people used to good manners and saying thank you always, when done a favor. he he he

    • You mention that the condition is treatable, how is it treated?

      • Copied from psychological journal….

The most frequently used form of therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and systematic desensitization or exposure therapy. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, about 75% of people with specific phobias overcome their fears through cognitive-behavioral therapy.

In desensitization or exposure therapy, you are exposed in a safe and controlled way to the object or situation you fear. The most commonly used exposure therapy involves gradual encounters with the fear-producing object, first in the imagination and then in reality. Through repeated experiences facing your fear, you begin to realize that the situation, while possibly unpleasant, is not harmful. With each exposure, you feel an increasing sense of control over your phobia. This sense of control over the situation and yourself is the most important benefit of exposure therapy. As you become desensitized to your fear, you no longer react with uncontrollable panic when confronted by it.

Relaxation and stress relief techniques are frequently an accompaniment to other therapeutic approaches. Relaxation techniques may include things like specific ways of breathing, muscle relaxation training, guided mental imagery, or soothing self-talk.

Medication can also be used in the treatment of monophobia. Drugs do not “cure” a fear of being alone or any other phobia, but they can temporarily suppress the symptoms through chemical interaction.

kaylar wrote a new post, The Problem with Word Limits 7 years, 9 months ago

Today, considering twitter, flash fiction, and sound/word bytes, people tend to get to the point as quickly as possible.

When you are reading an item on line, the longer it is, the less you read.   In fact, if […]

    • Sites such as this benefit with long posts as the Ads linger on.

      • That is a myth. That is why so many sites demanded 2k words. They thought the longer item would prove the site was ‘serious’. What happens, and you know it for yourself, is that you write an article, it is ‘too short’ you go back and start stuffing words. You’ve said everything you need to in 287 words. But you have to stuff in more. And unless you actually can find another clause that is necessary… blah blah

    • I think it is understandable that in an online earning site, we are there to earn. Thus, we are in a hurry to be able to post and earn more by the comment it would get.

Thus, we know that our time to read is limited, so we also try to make our posts shorter, to also give way for us to be able to read and comment to friend’s posts.

However, in a writing site such as here, there is a minimum number of words for a post to be approved to be published. Thus, I see a lot who are sometimes just beating around the bush just to meet the minimum number of words. I hate to say it, but they are rubbish posts.

Although, some would really go detail by detail, so much so that one would think, is this copied from anywhere and would be checked by Admin if they really are.

So here, you can sense if a post is just being made just to conform to having the minimum number of words. You have just read a few paragraphs but you already know what is being pointed out, because sometimes as go on reading , the writer seems to be already drifting.

Funny, but this is true to some posts here. Can we not just post shorter but substantive posts. If a post needs explanation , then a long post will do.

      • We are on the exact same page… that is how I feel. I write and try to get to the point. The best writers do that… so if you want to know what monophobia is and do a search you DON’T WANT TO READ…

“People all over the world suffer from Monophobia. You probably know people who suffer from Monophobia. Yet, Monophobia is nothing to be afraid or ashamed of…. (blah blah blah)

        You want to Read:

Monophobia is the fear of being alone and can make a person feel insecure, anxious and depressed.

    • I think it is good to write as short as possible. The only good fact is that the message and reason of the write up should be made as clear as possible. There is no crime in writing more words. This may either be for more clearance or emphasis.

      • The modern style is to be as quick as possible. Get to the point as sharp as one can and avoid the ‘very’ and other wasteful modifiers. Although 300 words here is not inordinately long, the fact is that when one finishes their sharp article and has to add 30 or 40 words… they rarely contribute.
