This is the best description of connecting and interrupting why Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December. Whenever this issue/topic is brought up people tend to quarrel a lot especially when we do not share the same views.
I love Christmas, first for the religious celebrations, the readings of the birth of Jesus, the songs, the drama pieces bringing the reading to life. But I also love the decorations, the trees, the lights, the nativity sets. They all bring out the happy side of people.

We must yearn to be renewed in Christ for this is where freedom truly lives. We no longer will be bound by the world but instead live joyfully in the Lord. Sin weights us down and tarnishes our existence. We feel old when sin overpowers us but turning to Christ for forgiveness cleanses us and makes us new again.

Amen!joy in the Lord for the Lord is greater than anything in this world! Money, leisure, flesh, relationship with other human being can vanished but God is forever.

So do we know who Jesus is? To do so means to desire the world and flesh less and open up our hearts to him. We must let him into our hearts so that he can claim our life and cleanse us of our sin. Yes, temptation may come our way but with Jesus in our hearts sin has no firm grasp on our lives. Our aim must be to dwell in the Lord and celebrate our newness in him.

Jesus is light of the world and we as Christians who follow him are to be light as well. If Jesus resides in our hearts we are to be different for he makes as different. To be a Jesus person and believer in the works of God we must make changes to our life. We must make our hearts clean and purified so that our lives will become illuminated with Jesus taking residence inside.

To be baptized means we accept the salvation God has provided for us, that we trust in him and want a new life in him. Being a Christian, a disciple of God, means we want to be different and as such we must be different, for such a lifestyle is a life-altering one and makes life-altering impact on those around us. Living a baptized lifestyle means conquering sin and death daily. We are alive in the glory of God and walk the path of sacrificial freedom that was given to us on the cross of crucifixion.

I believe on this. God is good. I have a many testimonies on how God has helped me and provided my needs. I have strong faith in Him. He has answered my prayers. He has given me trials and challenges which seem for me beyond I could go through or overcome. But God has helped me. He has given me the comfort and success which I now have had. I am so thankful for Him and for my family and others who have supported me in times of distress, in times of trouble.

Congratulations on all your success and continue to put all your faith and trust in God, for he alone can see your through all your difficulties and struggles. He will always be there for you.

It is always a struggle for us, Christians, to seek God first in our lives. We always have the tendencies to put ourselves, our own desires, first. And worst, we sometimes want to be more than God just like how Lucifer, Adam and Eve sinned against God. It is really difficult to always put God first in our lives, but if we keep on meditating/hearing His Words, nothing is impossible. God will enable us through the Holy Spirit to overcome temptations and even our own worldy desires.

Indeed you are correct. Being a Christian is difficult. But we have the perfect example of Christian living in the person of Jesus Christ, who showed us how to turn away from evil when he went through the temptation in the desert.

I beg to disagree when you said that to love is to desire to do good. I would rather improve it that to love is to do good. There is a difference between a desire and doing good. It is the indirect way of expressing love. By doing speaks an action and action requires another action.

point well received. Thank you.

1 John 4:7-8
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is [a]born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”Man’s love will always fail but God’s love will never fail us. If Jesus is in our hearts, He will teach us how to love others the way He loves us.

you are so right. We can only love others if we truly love God.
