I have bipolar disorder and one aspect of it is depression. I take a medication to prevent this but I think it might be causing me too much anxiety, I may be coming off of it soon.

I’ll reply to my own thread and get things started here. I’ve been very unstable the past week. Friday night I was actually in the ER and almost admitted to psych unit. VERY bad anxiety and impulsiveness. I may be starting DBT therapy again soonish, am waiting to talk to my case manager about that Thursday when I see her.

There was a time after I separated from my husband, I went through a bout of depression and not eating. In fact I didn’t eat for days. I was like a zombie walking around. I would be looking at t.v. and some one would ask me what I was watching and I didn’t have a clue.
I then started eating and I kept “thinking” how fat I was. I would eat a…[Read more]

I try to stay away from doctors. I think some times you get sick from the patients in the waiting room while you’re waiting to see the doctor!! lol

I fall in the sedentary group, as I have arthritis in my back. All (or at least most of my fat) is in my stomach. I also had my gallbladder removed. I also use to work outside the home as well. Maybe it’s age too!! I want to get a pedometer or fitbit to see how many steps I walk a day!!

@dawnwriter
This is true. British have found out the right thing which is in accordance with the Law of Attraction.
In my childhood, I could not understand ways to lose fat. I met a coach who told me to attack it the way monkeys attack stress. I decided to make it simple and straightforward. I do not go for rigorous workouts still. My approach…[Read more]

How many of you have tried home remedies / alternative medicines over standard cures?
I believe: Diseases are a process wherein environment attacks your immunity system. Medicine do not actually cure diseases. They strengthen your immunity and help you fight with diseases. Home remedies contain natural tools to boost immunity.
Have tried many…[Read more]

This is rather strange but a British study has suggested that if you consider yourself “fat”, you will find it harder to lose weight and will have an increased BMI.
Depression and stress about your own image can only make you feel worse and make it harder for you to lose weight.
So people with weight problems should think positive and be happy…[Read more]

I suffer from anxiety as well as depression. I think mostly it goes hand in hand for most people. I know it does in my family anyway. When I was taking care of my mother and after I had my two children, I had bad problems with anxiety and I would have attacks. They are scary and they are hard to deal with on your own. The medication that I take…[Read more]

In an earlier topic we were discussing depression. I then thought that I suffer form bouts of depression and I also suffer anxiety attacks and I wonder if there is a correlation to depression and anxiety? Other people who suffer from depression also suffer from anxiety attacks. It makes sense because when one suffers anxiety attacks we worry so…[Read more]

@morgoodie, ah bless your heart for educating and I’m sure being a support for people who suffer depression. I did have some depression after giving birth to my children as well, but I knew that they had me to depend on..so I made it through. Also when through a bout of depression when my children all moved out of the home, “empty nest” s…[Read more]

@JoDee I can completely relate to this topic. I have suffered with depression pretty much my whole life and yes, it is hereditary. Children of parents with depression have a great chance of being depressed. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain and many people do need medication to balance the chemicals properly so that you can feel better. I…[Read more]
@slayer, yes, I too when I was younger thought about killing myself. I think in ways, that I was seeking help/attention for someone just to listen to how I was feeling. When you have people around you, that acknowledge you and realize that you DO have a purpose in life, it gets easier. When I had children I knew I had a purpose . Not say…[Read more]
