My ex husband is a workaholic. During the weekend his favourite saying was this: “It is boring. I have nothing to do.” But during his work week, his favourite saying in the evening was: Boy did I work hard today. I am so tired”. Go figure, I guess he was never satisfied. Sorry about this comment. I just wanted to rant. I agree with you though about working for long hours to get your payment. I wish I had your energy.

Workaholic is like a drug addict? I guess so because as observed to those people who are said to be workaholic, they as if cannot live the whole day without doing a multi task. They cannot be satisfied with only one task they do. So for others, they work ’till midnight and then they woke up again as early as 4am just to do their work.
They are addicted with work, and that is why you compared it with drug addicts. As we all know, drug addicts depends on drugs to satisfy their body need, so as with workaholics, they feel contentment in doing full load of works daily.

My husband was a workaholic, which never left much time for us as a couple and if I ever spoke to him about this he would become angry which caused arguments. I resented feeling forgotten by him then one day we finally was able to actually sit and talk about our feelings he had been married before me and his exwife died from cancer after her death he dealt with his grief thru work, he and I met and eventually married but he was by that so use to working all the time he couldn’t see what he was doing to our marriage, after our talk he began to take days just for me and it helped our relationship greatly.
