eCommerce- Spreading at a rapid rate

eCommerce is future of Indian market and if trust the latest reports released by Goldman Sachs the investment banking company the Indian E-Commerce can touch $100 billion in next 5 years. It’s great news for Indian online market.

Indian eCommerce with multiple small and big companies is increasing at a brisk pace as the statistics would suggest in collaboration with foreign brands but they have yet to a lot to win the confidence of lower middle class’ consumers group although higher and middle income group has connected well with them.

If we look into the world eCommerce business in rest of the world it’s the same story everywhere. Look at the countries like Britain, Germany, Brazil and China the rate of increase is almost 70% or even more in certain cases but if we look at the actual figures of amount spent by consumers.

According to market sources the major chunk of the total shopping goes to American eCommerce sites but Indian markets are not far behind increasing almost at the rate of 100% per year.

Let’s face the facts, maybe the Indian markets are increasing at a great speed but we are still at least 10 years behind of our nearest neighbor and rival China at least by 10 years if not more as China had touched our present level in the year 2005 itself.

When we talk about online shopping it’s not limited to Amazon, Flipcart, Snapdeal then it will be only part of the fact since the Indian travel/ ticketing websites have been in use for a long time and doing well growing at the rate of more than 30% per year.

The markets are hoping to increase at faster rates in coming years as internet is reaching at more places and making it easier to shop online. I hope things will look brighter in coming time for everyone including consumers.

Besides travel sector the other popular sectors in online trade include clothes, jewelry, phones, same day delivery of daily need consumer items and accessories have added to business besides increasing demand of kitchen and home gadgets and appliances including refrigerators, food processors, utensils etc.
