I really hope we can. But just estimating it, I fully know it will not be possible, especially that we have our full-time jobs to attend to first.

Even if you wreck your brain in making posts as long as 500 words, i think it is still not possible.

So, we just enjoy it here and post and comment whenever we can.

Dina wrote a new post, My Wishes For Literacy Base To Make This Site Easier To Navigate And Popular 7 years, 8 months ago

I have been here since January of this year already. But still until now, I am still groping as to where I should be seeking things with regards to the comments in my posts.

    Though, through clicking and […]

    • I joined yesterday and same with your concerns, I found it hard to navigate the site and edit published posts.Maybe the admin can modify the site to make it user-friendly and be popular.

      • Yes, it would be nice to have those that I have wished here, especially the notifications bar.

And I forgot, how I wish they have the emoticon board too.

It would be nice if they would take this as a constructive one and maybe think about implementing them too so this site will have more members. Some are deterred by the complex ways here and maybe by the minimum number of words.

Actually the 300 word minimum is not hard for me because even at the other site, I write long post also and I always have to edit it to make short because I know the members there don’t like reading long posts, just like me. ha ha ha

    • I think the site in it’s current state is navigable. But recent posts and the blogs, and forum updates are not easy to access. I mean if it were all in front page, that would be lot better. Instead of widget such as active members, we could see more recent topics link posted. Then again they have tweaked the website that way. I am sure they have their own reasons.

      • Yes, of course they have their own reason and style . Though, perhaps they should also try to hear what our suggestions are to make this site user friendly.

That way, even those other people who would come here for the first time, would find it easy to post and be here, and be an active one here.

If there are more active members here always, this site will thrive.

    • I’m a newbie and just joined today. I have to say that I agree with you. It’s kind of confusing because I don’t even know how to navigate around the site. There seems to be a lot of wishes that you are asking for but would LB be able to fulfill them? I sure hope so because those are interesting points that you raised. And yes, a notification button would definitely be useful.

      • Actually, what I did is to click all those icons I see and discovered my way around.

Well, I don’t expect them all to be fulfilled, but at least I tried to voice out what I wish for this site to become- popular!

If this site will be so user-friendly, a lot will come here and be a member too. If there will be more active members, interaction will increase thus it will be a joy to be always here.

I don’t actually expect my wished to come true. I just want my wishes heard. Who knows the fairy godmother here will grant some, if not all.

Besides, my wishes are also for the good of the site. 🙂

    • I agree with your points. Some of the time the topics don’t warrant 300 words. And that’s when we have to write the content in terms of the personal viewpoint. For many of us that seeems to be the only way. You can also use the references like someone else’s opinion and then comment on that. This way reaching 300 words won’t be a problem.

      • I have noticed that to some, to make their post be for about 300 words, they talk about those topics that gets them to enumerate things. That’s good, at least we can learn from them.

    • Thank you for posting about the earning capacity of blogs, my friend. That answered one of the query I have in mind for the past days, though @cely has already messaged me about it.

I like making personal blogs. The thoughts flow so freely as I type them. No need to make a research of facts that we are talking about.

Personal blogs are relatable , so a lot can comment back. At least, with the personal blog we can be assured they are not those researched and copied ones from some parts of articles on the net or a book.

    • Good suggestions to take into consideration. Thank you for giving tips on how to do our topic.

You are also right that it is easier to read the 300-word article rather than the lengthy ones.

I haven’t written a 500-word article yet. As you said, a 500-word article the rate is $0.22 or $0.00044 per word.

To apply the rate to 300 words, total earnings will only be $0.132 as compared to $0.15 earnings for a 300-word article.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I might just be confused.

Today, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten season, a season of fasting and prayer. It is done at the start of the so called “quaresma” or forty days before the resurrection of Jesus on Glorious Sun […]

    • Very nice blog my friend, but sad this day, i was not able to go to church for my class starts at 7 and ends 12, then in the afternoon at 1 to 6 in the evening. I felt so very tired, plus so heavy traffic here due to mass goers of Ash Wednesday. I pray to father our dear Lord to forgive me for my body cannot anymore handle extra hours and go home very late.

I am so happy for you.At least we are the same RC and let us not be affected with negative feedback against priests and priests against the people and government.Let us just do our job for it is God we glorify not priests.

      • Thank you @Cely. 🙂

I think if the mall we manage has no chapel, I will not have the patience too, to go to a church teeming with people. I experience vertigo that’s why when I am in the midst of so many people.

Luckily, for 10 years now, I always get to attend the Ash Wednesday mass, because our company would always have a mass said on the chapel and before when we are not in this mall yet for our office, we hire a priest to do the mass in our office.

As for you, don’t worry. You can just pray in the confines of your room with a contrite heart. 🙂

    • Filipinos have a deep sense of religiosity which they show by attending Sunday Masses or observing religious activities like the Lenten Season.

God has been the center of their lives as expressed in the way they express their religiosity. The God-fearing attitude prevents them from committing negative acts towards other people. Though there are so many religions in our country (Philippines), majority of them are Roman Catholics.

    • Nice article!

Lately, I have not been as religious as I should have been. Coincidentally, I just submitted a similar topic but more of my not being active than the celebration itself.

It is so nice to know that there are still many Catholics who stick with their beliefs. There maybe flaws in our religion but it will all boil down to one: that we will all return to our Creator, no matter what religion you believe in. Even sinners, like San Dimas, was forgiven by Jesus for he repented and he believed that Jesus is his savior.

    • good information my friend thank you for sharing.

    • Yeah, sharing blogs or posts can benefit us in a way that it adds up our earnings.

Aside from that, we can impart ideas to more readers that could be useful to them. It is beneficial to us writers as will as to our readers.

Great information @Tiada. Thanks for sharing. It will be a help to other literacybase members.

    • It’s in the site’s Help section. It’s being discussed in forums. People are writing blogs posts about sharing. I don’t know how many times this can be said. SHARE!! With all of that going on, this post just reminded me to share via LinkedIn. I have been a member of the LI professional network for several years. But while I remember to share via all my other social networks, I tend to forget about LinkedIn. Going to make a special effort in the future to remember to share with those folks too. 🙂

    • @treathyl FOX, yes, you are right, this topic has been discussed and talked for some many times. Just a tender reminder for each of us, to share our post beside writing only, as mentioned by @Nemzie, it’s not only for the benefit of bringing traffics to Literacy Base, also for the benefit of the readers to bring them some useful ideas and guides in their life.

And, a tip that might be overlooked by the newbies here too since many are just newly joined during these few weeks. Cheers!

    • This is actually something i wondered about the other day. I wondered if we shared and got extra views, if we would earn extra on the site. You just answered my question thank you.

    • I would share but i don’t have alot of friends or followers on my social media sites, so it wouldn’t exactly be helful for me.

      • It’s more helpful to not just you but to the whole community for you to share than for you to not share. You have friends. Your friends have friends. If you had to the courage to post here for others to read your content, why don’t you go the next step and share with others? We read your posts. Why won’t other people outside of the community want to read your posts? Your friends may not just like what you wrote but they might share what you wrote. If you already have the account it takes no effort to click share button. Try it. 🙂

    • I haven’t tried sharing any of my blog posts into social media, as I am thinking that my blog post is not good enough for the readers. I might just receive criticisms for my work such as wrong grammar or sentence constructions. Haha. But actually, I am also considering to do it, to give some boost to my slow moving earnings. Thank you for this information.

      • I speak English. I see a lot of bad grammar. I know for many here English is not their native language. But you’re braver than me because you at least try to speak the language. If I tried to write post in Hindi or some other language other than English, I’m not sure what the readers’ reaction would be. Would they laugh? Would the get insulted? Would they get mad? So your English isn’t perfect. Share your stuff. People are humans. They can understand misspelled words, incorrect grammar, etc. Even the non-human search engines pick up on misspelled words and include them in the results. Don’t hold yourself back.

    • I already share some of my approved post in Facebook and I earned $0.001 per visit. So, ask your friends to share your link to their friends. Who knows, they may like your post and if you get 1,000,000 visits, that is equivalent to $1,000.00.

We can dream if we want to.

    • Interesting. Thank you for writing this kind of posts that can help users, especially new users, manage at this site… 🙂

    • Actually I was not aware that you could earn sharing your post on social media. Just came to know about it, I had seen the sharing option but dint knew that you can even earn. Is it alright if we share it on group instead on our own Facebook account?

    • I did not know that you can share and earn by our posts on media, it is good point and this way we earn how much? i used to liek social media but now i feel its waste of time but if it going to make us money then kindly tell us more about how and when and which media that can make us more money

    • I have already learned this and have applied this technique to get some credits for my LiteracyBase posts. And it works. I have several social media accounts like the Facebook, GooglePlus, StumbleUpon, Twitter, among others.

In such activities, I had received a considerable credits and earnings accumulated to my LB outstanding balance. However, you should see to it that you have such different social media. What I mean is you have to create them or register there. The biggest sharing activity I have had is in the Facebook for I have more than 3,000 friends.

    • yes this is good information , when I do share my blog
i have trouble trying to share it on face book the share button is under
my lap top bar so I can not get to it . but i have no problem sharing it
      on twitter

    • I like the idea of getting paid to post, share, and comment. And you can meet new people as well.

    • hmm its very hard to stay alone especially with so many kids around us.

      • You are right Ajay.. It is really difficult to take care children if you are all by yourself. You need to have more patience, more hard work and perseverance.

    • @Cristina You are an amazing woman. Imagine, doing those things in rearing your five children.

Though I must admit that when our child was sick, hubby and I will take turns in taking care of our baby.

When our baby was with colds, my hubby would suck the phlegm from her nose and spit it out. That way, the phlegm on the baby’s nose will not stuff her nose.

I must say, I didn’t experience that much in rearing our baby because we only have one.

You are so blessed because you have 5 children and you have a boy at least.

      • Thank you.. I’m sure I can’t really forget those experiences in rearing them.
Yes, I am lucky to have them and I thank God I have brought them up as good children.

    • @cristina, rearing the twin is a amazing job! Salute!
Mother is the most busy person in the family, especially when the kids are sick.
I breastfed my two kids, but the little one is five years-old now, so I have more free time, and can write some blogs after finishing my house chores.

      • Hello Tiada. I think nobody at home is busier than the mother. It is the mother who takes care of everything like cooking, cleaning, washing dishes and clothes, and most especially taking care of the children and even her husband. It is this job that has no holidays, no weekends and no salary.Mothers are only compensated by the love they are getting in return from their children and husband as well.

    • Mothers are really like that; just like what you did @Cristina, it is epitome of “unconditional love.” Children should appreciate it when they grow up and be matured individuals.

      • Thanks friend. I just wish that my children could understand the sacrifices I have done for them.I just want their respect and love. I do not really expect that they will also take care of me in return, but at least to appreciate even in simple ways those things that I did and still doing for them.

      • Thank you. We really are indeed proud parents. Especially that she we have raised her to be a God fearing woman.

Oh, please don’t say JUST an accountant. Each of our profession has a different way of contributing to society. Each one is important, to complete the cycle of things in our lives.

But she really has the ambition of being a lawyer actually. But my father a lawyer who eventually became a judge discouraged her because there was a scholarship waiting for her for the science related course so she took BS Biology then pursued Medicine.

And that’s what me and hubby did when we got married. It was just a simple wedding with just the family, closest relatives, friends and officemates present.
