Two and a half years ago, I had to have a hysterectomy because of issues and pain I was having from endometriosis that I was diagnosed with after having my children. Before my hysterectomy, I experienced hot flashes, mood swings, and other symptoms that I thought were menopause even though my doctor told me I was too young. So I was like okay.…[Read more]

I think it’s really not easy to be a parent to a teenaged child. I always think it’s challenging.
Frankly speaking, I totally did not remember, but my younger sister told me I always locked myself in the room when I was in high school. I shared the room with my younger sister, and as I was staying in the hostel during high school, she didn’t get…[Read more]

When I was a teenager, I used to shut myself in my bedroom or down in the basement all of the time. I was basically a loner and I liked to be alone. I think as a teenager you are trying to distance yourself from your parents because you are trying to create a sense of independence and can only be that way when you are away from everyone. Teens do…[Read more]

@grecy095/
you got a point there sis.
It is easier to say than to be done.
My hubby and I tried talking to our teenager.
Asking her why she had to lock herself in the room.
She said she needed privacy and hated when someone just barge into her room without knocking the door. My son does that daily. Already told him not to do that because…[Read more]

With all the gadgets and everything and as you said hanky panky, they are dealing with something private of their own. I never lock myself too because I am sharing my room with my siblings. We do not have doors, we have a divider and the divider does not have a lock. I cannot have my privacy at home and how I wish I have it when I was young.
Me,…[Read more]

Sometimes, I just couldn’t apprehend the fact that this is the TREND.
Most teenagers do lock themselves in the room for many reasons.
When I was a teenager, I NEVER had my own room.
I had to share my bedroom with my mom.
My younger…[Read more]

I never had a child and when I was young, my father never spanks us. My mother never hurt us, even pinched it. They shout at us, verbally hurting us at one time but that’s it. I guess my love for my parents makes all the hurt subside and erased while I was growing. Other parents do this to discipline their child. For them to hurt them is a…[Read more]

I think it’s really interesting that you mention first that spanking doesn’t work, and then go on to say that if other means aren’t effective a parent “just has to” spank. I think that’s how the majority of parents who do spank would probably see it: as a last resort, and often a measure used in frustration, exasperation, and extreme anger.
That…[Read more]

You are really of what you are. You’re gentle and you have the pure heart to your parents. That is how we should treat our parents, either they are good or bad. We should follow what the Bible say to honor and respect them or else our salvation is endangered.

@dawnwriter Yes, I agree with you that children actually like to make their parents happy. They do not purposely make us angry. I also think it’s good to let the children know what the boundaries are, and as parents, we need to stick to the boundaries firmly, consistently but lovingly too, otherwise children will be confused. I totally agree with…[Read more]

I have never spanked any of my children nor slapped them on face or body.
But sometimes if at toddler age, they threw a tantrum, I lightly hit their bottom (never too hard) but to make them stop crying loudly.
From a very young age, I tell my children if they are happy, I am happy and we exchange big smiles. Children like to make their parents…[Read more]
I never spank my children, and I remind myself not to do that, no matter how. I did yell at my elder son, now I rarely yell at them, but still get angry and scold them sometimes. I learned not to yell, and now learning not to get angry and scold them too.
My mom used to beat me when I was young, though I always think I am a good girl. I always…[Read more]

Spanking is not well accepted in the modern society.
Nowadays kids are not stupid to just stay there, let mommy spank them.
They would retaliate in form of anger, physically and verbally.
In addition spanking doesn’t change a child`s behavior.
Instead, it may deterioate further his hatred towards parents.
Sometimes, it is hard not to…[Read more]

@Rameez I have just one real relationship so I guess I learned nothing much. I did not have the chance of learning as I had no option of comparing in between my two such relations 🙂

As to losing weight, I have to control my carbo intake and take a daily morning brisk walking around the community where I live. I did it for several months and I was surprised when I had my weighing. I lost 10 lbs. from my present weight of 70 lbs.
Right now, I have again gained another 5 lbs. for I have stopped making some rounds every morning…[Read more]
