Yes indeed the pain that Jesus went through for our inequities is unbearable. He went through scorn, he was spat at, criticized whipped all because of our sins. How much love can one give to, or be willing to go through all this things just to save the souls of people? Leave alone people even doing something like risking one’s life for the ones…[Read more]

acelawrites wrote a new post, Travel While Young, Traveling When Very Old is Hard 7 years, 8 months ago

Are you fond of traveling? Then if you would like to see places, near and far, or even abroad, it is best to plan it while you are still young. Why? There are so many advantages of going places while you are still […]

    • What you have written in the article is very true. I have seen many elders who are aged but still want to travel a lot. In some ways it helps them but it is a problem for them in most of the cases. Many find it difficult to walk on the platforms in the railway stations or climb the stairs with their suitcase and the whole crowd is there. They face the same issue at the airports too. As the terminals are long and they find it tiring. Especially long distance travel. It is better when they are old they travel and eat light as it would do a great service to them.

Nagging health issues is also a problem which many face due to health related issues due to age. My take is if they would want to travel out it is better they go out somewhere nearby in the morning and come home by the afternoon. That way they will be in control of things. They can rest after they return. The trip is better if it is traveled somewhere nearby from home far distance travel is best avoided at that age. If one is very healthy and does not have to take any medicines then it is ok other wise it better avoided by the remaining people. Home and neighborhood are the safest place to move around. Thanks for the share.

      • Thank you Krishna Kumar for a very good response. It can be a blog in itself! (joke). Yes, you are right, adults should not travel very far from home if they are not physically able to do it.

So while young, people should take the opportunity to go places and meet a lot of people too! When they grow old, they would be happy to reminisce the people and beautiful places they had visited.

    • Thanks for the information and the tips , it make sense, but travelling old is nice too, other wise you would not see them everywhere, i went to holiday and i found the old travellers more than the young ones, really was surprised, but that how, i guess it is depending on the couple and the money how much

    • Thanks for the information but wasn’t it is better to travel when you are old because this is the time that you have plenty of time to spend than during young when you are too busy with your job. I know that it might be really troublesome to travel when old but why fear when you are near the end of your life. You should be enjoying life at this old age not fearing that you might face problems during the travel. But of course it is better if you travel with friends or family so that if anything happens, they can take care of you.

acelawrites wrote a new post, Benefits of Playing Computer Games for Adults 7 years, 8 months ago

Do you still play games in your gadgets like laptops, netbook, ipad, tablet or cellphone though you are already old, say past 50?

I do, and while playing an old favorite game, tetris or block/brick game, I […]

    • Online games are upgrades of some old games.. and it has developed to am even better version

      • Thanks Kat2x for your reply. Yes, new games are just improved, but they are based on old games like brick games, etc. I like it best, now called tetris! I was also playing Plants and Zombies, Candy Crush, etc. when I have some spare time.

    • thaks for the info, i have to say also any thing you do using your brain will delay alzihimars, and as acelawriters said that the new generation s games are not really the one that help the brain and protect it

      • Thank you mangoh for your reply.Yes, I do hope brain exercises like playing computer games could help delay the onset or even prevent Alzheimer’s disease. But for the new generation or for the young, it can also help them though it can lead to addiction on games and they will always be sitting all day playing instead of doing other things or studying their school lessons.

        • thanks for replying, regarding these games, it does not apply to any game, i m sure it is applied to good intelligence games, not the one that new or young generation are playing now, becuse playing silly games will no way improve your brain or protect it from any aging, so you need to find useful game to win the against alzehimers, for example playing candy crush is not helping, playing shooting games do not help either, you need to play games has benefit such as strategy ills, and organization, that is how you train your brain and boost it so you do not have Alzheimer later in the futures, it si nice post and nice info that do help in searching the good game to play and use your free time to gain some info also, i like to write and read and rading is the best boost brain needs for sure

          • Playig games not helathy
I guess its waste of time, yea its good sometimes to relax playing games but to make your brain healthier, it is not what i would beleive, and I guess maybe they talk about math games

    • that is true, as we are getting old, we don’t have work to do and then our mind starts thinking so much. To stop mind, make yourself busy with games, puzzles thats the good option.

      • I agree with you Trupti. When we are old, we have to “pamper” ourselves with such relaxing activities like playing computer games instead of getting stressed with so many problems around us. It helps a lot. Thanks for your reply.

    • An very informative article. Though I personally do not play games. I have seen many of my relatives and family members who are more than fifty play games online. They seem to enjoy the experience. I have also seen people those having no education play online games and enjoy the same. I keeps the mind and the reflexes active and delays health related issues which are common with ageing. The number of games and the companies too has increased and it has grown into a very big industry. Having a great future and market.

But too much of anything is bad and it would be better if it is balanced with outdoor activities like walking, just sitting on the porch and observing the sky, clouds, trees and the birds and other life existing. It gives an interesting insight into the life of different creatures who we rarely used to observe carefully when we were working or busy during the working years. It is a very good activity. Even seeing the rains fall or watering the plants also works as a therapy for the mind. If one likes pets they would be your best friends and so do books as they give unconditional love and affection. Writing and expressing you point of view is also a good therapy. Thanks for the share

      • Very well-said, Krishan Kumar, and thank you for that reply. Yes, old people have to do combination of activities to ease boredom and to keep them busy. Socialization or just talking with friends or relatives is one; walking, and as you mentioned, admiring the beauty of nature around us. This is the stage where people can usually appreciate the beauty of everything, because they were so busy with life in their early ages. Now is the time for “repayment” of the blessings we have, appreciating it, and sharing it with other people.

Playing computer games relaxes their mind, keep the brain active, and takes the person away from nuisances around him.

    • Mhmm.
      Time consuming.
      Having fun.

      • It could be time-consuming for people who are still productive, or for working people, but for retirees who could not think of anything to on a daily basis, it is better to play gadgets, read a book, do some light physical activities that will keep their body and mind busy.

    • Yes, keeping the mind and body busy at old age, when many retire and passing time meaningfully becomes tough is much needed. So some dose of computer games is not bad.

    • Yes playing computer games can delay and reduce the risk of getting alzheimer but I think this only applied to games that makes us use more of our brain rather than fingers.

      • Yes, I was so happy she came back! Your brother’s cats have very nice names. I thought he is such a nationalistic person so he named them from “kalayaan” (freedom). I named it Kamuning, sometimes “Kapusa” from my favorite TV station “Kapuso” GMA-7.

    I don’t act […]

    • really thats so sweet from you and yoru friend who did all that, nice things means meaningful things not pricey things, its by the menaing oft he things not by the price of the things or by it is sizes, its only has a meaning when its from people you like and when you need it or they need it and gave it to you, its so beautiful to feel for others when they dont say a word and help also without them to ask you to help

      • @mangoh ,

        Thank you for saying that.

They are after all my parents. I am just trying to return the love they gave me and my siblings while we were growing up. They sacrificed a lot in order for me and my siblings to have a nice life and be sent to college.

Now, that I already have a family, I see to it that I still have the time to be with them in my free days from work and give them the things they may want. Although, my father being a retired judge have a big pension, this little thing such as giving to him this gift that is supposedly for me, made him so happy.

    • That is so nice to hear this thing about you my friend. You are a person with a kind and generous heart , because you like sharing things especially when it comes to our love ones.

You share without asking for return and that is what is expected of us when we help people or share our time to help other people.

Really, you volunteered in Central Asia? When was that and what did you do as a volunteer? And were you not given any allowance for your needs there, or were you in allowance basis?

It is really a nice feeling when in our own little way, we are able to share what we have not waiting for any return at all.

    • That is how we should be to our parents. Loving and caring. Even if we give them little things, it means a lot to them already.

That’s because they feel important when we give them these things they want. Especially, when they are already getting old, the least we can do is be with them, talk and share stories with them. Time is already getting shorter for them, so we should find the time to even just be with them and give them small things like their favorite foods.

They took care for us all since our birth and until we can be on our own already, so when the time comes that they are already a bit older, we can start paying back those days when they took care of us.

    • So funny. Moms can complain about a gift we give them and we’ll bend over backwards so that she will be pleased. :0

      • @Treathyl FOX ,

Yes, moms would complain of our gifts. My mother is like that.
She would complain that she has lots of them already, when I gifted her a shawl and a bag.

Father got angry at her for being that way and reprimanded her that she should be happy we gave her a gift and it comes from our heart. The next time around , she didn’t complain anymore.

That is why, I like giving a gift to my father, because he would really smile from ear to ear and would thank profusely for it. Little things means a lot to him already. 🙂
