@cmoneyspinner Hi. Thank you so much. I am very confused about blogjob. I don’t know whether I should delete my posts there and bring them here or just wait? At the moment, I do not have to delete and repost so the Movie Magic blog will stay on blogjob. If you wish, you can share links though I am not sure if they will benefit you, me or […] View

@grecy095 This is a very beautiful forum topic. I believe that whenever we help someone, we light a candle that dispels our own darkness and you are more aware of other people’s problems when you are in pain yourself.

Those who have known me for long know that i had given birth to daughter 15 years ago. Her lungs were not fully developed and right after birth there were complications.

Her death changed me a lot. It taught me to be more grateful for all things that I have and not to forget those people who lack many things in life. In her memory, I give away clothes, books, toys, blankets, even socks and shoes to those who need it because I keep thinking, if she was here with me I would buy these things for her.

I am sorry to say that i was living a very carefree life in a bubble and not very aware for poverty, sickness and problems all around me. Her death opened my eyes and now I begin each day with a thanks for all that I have. I believe my daughter and i will unite in heaven one day so I have not really lost her.

I guess the name J.K Rowling will forever remain associated with the Harry Potter series. Maybe that is why the author chose to create the character Detective Cormoran Strike under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

I just finished reading the first book in Cormoran Strike series called The Cuckoo’s Calling and really enjoyed it. It is a very well written murder mystery in which a super model dies after falling from her balcony. The police think it is drug-related suicide but her brother wants her death investigated by the private investigator.

I wonder why the author likes big, hairy men though. In HP series it was Hagrid but in this book, the hero is very big and hairy and his physical appearance is not really hero material but he is shown to be very intelligent with photographic memory and the tendency to follow all leads very carefully. His assistant Robin is just like Hermione, clever and efficient and they make a good team.

Have you read any book by JK Rowling that she is writing as Robert Galbraith?

I enjoy reading John Grisham novels but I am never sure how his books are going to turn out. For example, A Time To Kill was about a white lawyer defending an African American father after he kills two white men who had raped his daughter. It was a very serious book and talked of racism and how justice differs for people from different races.

Books like Pelican Brief, The Firm and Rainmaker were Hollywood material with dashing protagonists, witty dialogues and enough suspense and action to make them into movies (Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise and Matt Damon) playing lead roles.

The latest book that I have read by John Grisham is The Partner and I am not sure what to make of this book. The plot is so crazy and implausible that made me laugh but at the same time it is very brilliantly written.

A lawyer fakes his own death and runs away with 90 million dollars from his law firm’s account. He gets chased by FBI, his former associates, insurance companies, and the other bad guys but with meticulous planning, he gets to walk scot free. There is a brilliant twist in the end which is perfect for a book such as this one.

All in all, it is a very entertaining book that you just cannot put down. Are there any John Grisham fans on Literacy Base?

@peachpurple I am a Muslim so my answer is based on what i have learned from our Holy book, the Quran and the words of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

I believe that making a promise/vow to God that i will do something and then not do it is not a light matter. There are two reasons for this:

Let’s say someone I love is sick and I promise God that i will feed a poor everyday so he gets better. I don’t think it is right to make charity conditional. Actually it is considered the way of a miser because it shows that it is difficult for me to part ways with my money even for sake of someone I love unless I get something in return.

Suppose the person does not get well. Will it be right for me not to feed the poor? The right way would be to feed the poor, give charity to please God and then ask for His blessings.

In Islam, we believe that feeding and clothing a poor are the best forms of charity anyway and doing this keeps many troubles away.

Secondly, our aim should be to please our God and not indulge in business transactions with Him, by saying If you give me this, I will do this type of things.

Making empty promises postpones the good deeds and make them conditional upon getting the desired result. It is better to be charitable at all times and keep on praying to God for health, wealth and all our worldly needs without conditions.

@kaka135  I am so happy for you. You definitely deserved the extra bonus because you are very active and positive in the forums. You work extremely hard and I am glad @support recognized your efforts. Loved your post about why we should submit blogs here.

All the best to you!

Thank you for your quick response @support. Can you please look into my Humour Group. The icon is there but there are no forums and post under Humour is also missing.

@swalia I have decided to leave these matters in hands of the support and just enjoy the site for the time being. It causes too much stress to check earnings and points for each comment made.

I have also received this message and was about to report it. @ suny

I hope @admin will take care of it ASAP.

I would not want to change anything in my life.

I have gone through some problems, I have lost a new born daughter and I have suffered some other losses but each joy and sorrow has made me the person I am today and i am content by grace of Allah.

I am not beautiful or rich and it would be nice to have many things but I am still at peace so I guess I wouldn’t want to change anything in my life or go back in my past.

I am nearing 60 cents but i have decided to enjoy the site, the company and the discussions and not focus too much on earnings for the moment.

I am posting any blogs here. Too much effort for too little incentive but i am really enjoying talking to some lovely people here.

I multi-task a lot when I am online. I have at least 7-8 tabs open as I read my emails, Facebook updates, MyLot, Blogjob, Chatabout, Literacy Base updates etc.

If I did not do that, I would never get things done in the limited amount of time I have online.

If I am writing a  post, then I only concentrate on my work, because I don’t want to be distracted and make errors.

@Grecy Garcia I hope you feel better soon and motivated again. Blogjob suspending its reward system has been a big blow for all of us. *Hugs*

May 12, 2016 at 10:50 am

@slayer08 Recently a site called Blogjob had to suspend its reward system. Many members were near cash out and it was a big blow for them.

It was truly amazing how many other members came quickly and selflessly to our help transferring hundreds of points in our accounts so that those who were near cash out limit could redeem. As long as I live, I will never forget their generous gesture.

We know each other online through our words only. Let us make sure we have good and kind words for  each other so that this empathy and kindness can make our real world beautiful too.

Dua for Parents:

This is a special dua taught in the Holy Quran that every person should ask for his parents. This dua is preceded by a command by Allah to be respectful towards parents and never address them harshly or with rude manners.

“And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], “uff,” and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.”

[Surah Al-Isra, 17:23, 24]

Dua for a pious family:

“Our Lord! Bestow on us from our spouses and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of those who have Taqwa.”

[Surah Al-Furqan, 25:74]

This is such a beautiful and complete prayer for having solid family relationships and children who are on the right path. Listen to a  beautiful lecture from Nauman Ali Khan regarding this dua.

I have never really “hated” anyone in my life.

I once read a quote. ” Don’t give people who annoy you, rent free space in your mind” and i believe in it.

If people are nasty, jealous, rude etc, I think they are less fortunate than me because these emotions are a  heavy burden on a person’s soul and heart and how much happiness are they missing by being so negative.

So i will probably not think about the past and try to pass the time to the best of my ability.

But I will be very scared of being stuck in an elevator. !!!!
