People use adblockers for virtual survival.  This isn’t the ancient days where there were a banner and a closing and a couple on the side, this is where there is no article… just ‘wall paper’ for the ads.  You can’t see the site, you’ve got pop ups and intrusive ads which many times cover part of an article.

Ad Blockers are a reaction to too m…[Read more]

    • It’s obvious that it is just being rewritten. She just chopped it into sections.

It can still be detected as plagiarized.

      • It was. I tried to warn the Mod, he ignored me. It brought the entire site down. There are many topics one will write and write about again because they get stuck in your mind. But one has to write from different angles.

On Wikinut I had written about the Bubonic Plague… and another writer had written about the Plague at virtually the Same Time!

I thought he Plagarised my work until I read his….

The joke was… the BBC had mentioned the Plague, I ran to do my research, he ran to do his. We both published at virtually the same time… two totally different items from different points of view.

My view is that when an Owner starts to take in money, if s/he has a dishonest gene, it takes over and they deplete the ‘treasury’ and can’t pay their writers.

I disagree Mahesh.   If a site is NON paying, such as Wikinut or Blogjob, fine.  But a site like Hubpages is supposed to pay, but pays so little, if/when it’s a waste of key strokes.  Any site that promises to pay and doesn’t is a Scam.

When it comes to Ad Block… that’s a whole different story

Wikinut doesn’t pay and probably never will again.   The Owner of the site hasn’t a clue how to manage a site, and left his mods to do what they pleased.  As soon as the site stopped paying the Mods left, except for the one guy, the one I’d warned about publishing Shards…

The Fact was; the Owner messed up, and ripped off the writers.  Then ran with coin.   If he hadn’t been such a dishonest thief that site would be the top of the Internet.

    • It would be nice to see the day when ALL positions for employment are actually based on the job candidate’s qualifications and merits. But that ain’t never gonna happen and we know it! So if you got skills, try to find out how to make it on your own.

As for the Oscars? Did something happen? I stopped watching that particular awards show years back. Long time ago, we might have argued about the “hint of racism” in these ceremonies. But that lady who played the maid in “Gone With the Wind” did got an Oscar, even though she couldn’t go to the celebration part afterwards because Negroes were not allowed. Sidney Potier got an Oscar for “Lilies of the Field”. Denzel Washington has more than one Oscar on his belt notch. Perhaps the person who started the Academy Awards actually did want to give recognition to outstanding actors, directors, etc. But these days, especially these days, we all know that the award shows are about money. And any little “controversy”? It’s probably about money too! That black and white stuff is just “window dressing”.

      • I feel you are seeing the same thing I am. It’s like having various flavours of ice cream and most people buying Rocky Road, (for example) and the store deciding this in unfair to strawberry so people have to buy strawberry.

When Avatar roped in more money than any other picture and didn’t get the award one wondered where the head of the Academy was?

I have no intention in seeing a movie about homosexuals. It doesn’t appeal to me. I will prob. watch la la land online because its a ‘feel good’ movie and sometimes… gee… people go to the movies to… um… be … I don’t know…? Entertained?

To my mind La La Land won… but it was more ‘politically correct’ to give it to Moonlight, so the envelopes were fudged…

    • You have a taste for antiques my friend. I don’t.

Even with the designs of houses, I am not into the antique ones. I like the contemporary ones with minimalist touch, so the house will have the illusion of being spacious.

I don’t like furniture that are darkly colored mostly brown as antiques are. I like furniture that have colors that makes the house appear bright and spacious.

But good thing I don’t have a taste for antiques because they are expensive. he he he

    • Dear @Dina, thanks for reading and commenting my blog. I love to have you here.
I believe you going to cash out this month end too, right? Glad to seeing it happened to you and me.
The reason why I love those old stuffs, first, I think it is a waste if just throw them away or into the dustbin. It is not environment friendly, and wasted of the limited resources we have on the earth, right?
It just a choice of lifestyle, yeah, I go for postmodern style too sometimes, it depends. You are right, we are all try to be minimalist touch, but having said that, I think my house is a bit messy with some old books stuck in my book shelves recently, sigh!
Again, you are right again, I think my hunted goods are not antique too, as I am not affordable, I just shopped and hunted for old and unwanted goods of other, I guess. Haha!

    • I love antiques or second hand finds. I visit the flea market once a week usually.

    • I love second hand hunting someone’s trash is someone’s treasure goodwill stores are a great source of second hand treasures. I’ve got a friend that was remodeling her kitchen she wanted a unique island and found a second dresser made of cherry she sanded down restrained and put a granite top on now it is the showpiece of her kitchen. Yard sales are great spots for hunters as well. Nothing like finding a nice piece taking it home and making it into a great piece of furniture.

@Mahesh Wikinut is still there but it does not pay. They accepted anything republished and earning pennies was almost impossible even when they had reduced their payout to British Pound 2.5 from 5. I was paid 4 times total BP 10 within a span of 6 years. The site has stopped paying since 2016 with proper notification to all its members!

    • For me, I am actually basing my actions according to what is being taught by Jesus in the Holy bible. As simple as that.

In my opinion, if we are a firm believer of Jesus and put into heart and mind his teaching at the Holy bible , we will be good persons.

Being good is dependent on how other perceive actions as good or bad actually. But when you follow Jesus teachings you can be sure that you will be a good person. 🙂

    • Then maybe the government of India should do something about those government employees who are like that.

Here in the Philippines, many years before government employees are really lax in their work. They have a one hour break from 12:00-1:00 but others would be going out from 11:00 and be back at 2:00.

Now, with the new president, everyone are mandated not to be late to work and they have a report of their work accomplishments. I think that’s because some were incompentent ones were fired and their works were given to other employees, thus they all are busy already. Though, they were given increases in salary, so much so that the minimum wage in the government is so much higher than that in the private sector.

On top of that, there is a hotline where complaints about employees can be reported and investigated. If proven true, they can be dismissed from work.

    • I think government job in India are harder to acquire because there is a lot of competition. And one has to focus on what they can do what they can’t make competition to do. As the competition continues to increase, it’s harder to get the job we want. I think the burnout can be avoided if the person don’t waste time in competing and focuses on money.

    • Yah, indeed its true working from home is good but if I’m not mistaken, this may apply mostly to developed countries.

In many third world countries, People wakeup every morning, run to working places to appear physically, if not so, you will be marked absent and your pay will be cut for absentism. This is because facilities that enable one to work from home are not common and even if they could be, most of the People dont know how to use them.

And we dont believe you can sit, work from home and be paid, for most of us offer manual labour and you know what it means.

Like me I have never been paid for working from home. If LiteracyBase does pay me, then this will be the first of its kind.

    • I think it can be bad idea once you get bored. If the work is regular then you;d be happy. But when the work stops and you have no other option, then work from home can be bad. It’s better to have day job and working on online stuff during evening or the weekend. That way one can’t get bored and also money making would be lot better.

    • The only work at home I am with is this site and myLot. Before, I had Bubblews and I really was able to earn a lot there.

So even if I weren’t paid there for a few hundred dollars, it’s okay because they really gave me a big earning there. It’s just so sad that it got closed because of those spammers who scammed them of money.

I hope this site will be here a very long time so I can always have a place to earn extra through writing.
