Good to know that you play chess. Chess is a mind game. It is also very useful for the person to keep his mind active as it allows one to think both in the offensive and the defensive way. It is a tactical game requiring lots of concentration and application of mind. We have Vishwanathan Anand from India who has been and is a champion who has won in different formats of the game. There is a large following for this game in our country and many tournaments too are conducted for various age groups.
I like the game I also play the game alone sometimes as it makes one see both the sides perspective. Doing this exercise improves mental agility especially as one ages. I do play it with youngsters who would want me to play a game with them. India has produced many champions and grand masters in this game in different tournaments the world over. A informative post.
I also played chess so many years ago when I was in high school. But I did not join tournaments in school, it’s only between my brothers and sisters at home. My brother taught me how to play it.
