Does writing for money appeal to you?
I always questioning my skills to write, because no matter how I try many mistakes can be found in my text. It is true, I took the classes, I read a lot of previous months and […]

    • You said you are not good in English , much more in writing. So how come you were able to make long and nice posts, with correct grammar like those posts that you have just did?

We all can polish our writing skills by taking note of how others make good posts. As to English, we can also learn from the internet. Most of all, we can use English correction tool like grammarly.

So you see, with the internet, you can really learn how to write well with good English.

    • This is enough that you have compromised with your weakness. But, what I want to tell you is that there are many in other sites who really are poor in their language. Maybe ..they want to write something on the internet not for money but for gaining control over the language and vocabulary.
When I joined in the Spanish language I felt it difficult to learn a foreign language. I still continued with determination. After a semester I could understand the basics of learning a foreign language, which is very very important. I become very familiar with the language and was in a position to write like a Master. People were looking at me with their eyes wide open. I was just scribbling as I do in English. I completed the Advanced Dip in Spanish also. There was no Master Degree at that time. So I joined in the French language. Here I faced the real music. French is a very soft-spoken language. What you speak and what you write are different. I lost my patience. Whenever I was asked to speak I was getting the Spanish pronunciation instead of the French one. The professors were laughing at me knowing the problem I had. However, only for namesake, I could complete the certificate course in French.
The two languages virtually killed my English. I was getting confused to write simple English words. Because the spelling I was getting was from Spanish. This is the language where you write what you speak. Very flexible and comfortable language. So now I am facing trouble with spellings in English. Of course, I could overcome the weakness after a long practice.

You do the practice without looking for money. Try to write good English with a good expression without looking for vocabulary. The command on vocabulary can be obtained with the help of expression. This needs some constant practice. One fine day you will get it without your notice and the sentences roll down like glass balls on a table top.

Once you complete an article give a reading. Chose something and try to search the alternatives to express something in a more better way. This leads you towards vocabulary automatically. Never use a translator. There will be full of mistakes.

Your next step will be to write for money which you can really feel proud of.

    • I remember before you told me about this, but I wanna tell friend that you are a very good writer/blogger. There is nothing wrong in your writing and no error per se seen. Writing is done step by step and development follows without your notice. Constant writing improves us little by little. Further, your writing is great and the topic discussed is so inspiring. Keep up the positive spirit,Don’t let negative people kill your dreams.

    • I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant for 24 years and I love taking care of people. One thing that I realized in this profession is that this is something that you have to enjoy doing or it just will not work.
First of all, you have to have patience in this field in taking care of the elderly. You have to understand, once an elderly person becomes helpless, their not gonna like that, so they are going to react in all type of ways. I was often called names from the elderly, abused sometimes from them because they were angry…. but it is ok because I understand that it is not easy for them as well.
I can go on writing about the nature of this field but I just wanted to let you know that this profession is about the individual who can work with people by taking good care of them and protecting them from harm, companionship, etc. It can be stressful at times but I enjoy being able to take care of an elderly person and get good recognition because my work does speak for me…in which case, I have received it from family members and the patient/client/resident.

      • You failed to understand something – I am not a nurse, I have no medical schooling whatsoever, neither this was my job which I was doing for money. I was not paid for this and my entire life suffered and still does because I was bond to be there by his side the whole day.

I lost my real job at fitness center and I also have three juvenile children, the oldest is eight which were not seeing me but my husband had to take care of them pus his job sometimes had to suffer too.

I would take your valuable comment as pro b ono instruction, but your conditions are not even closely similar to mine.

You do your job for 8 hours, go home and receive a big nice pay. It is easy to be patient and nice when you get in hand a hard cold cash for it.

    • But why did you tolerate them for taking care of an old man with no compensation at all.

Didn’t you try looking for another job instead when you lost your job?

And oh how ungrateful that old man you took care of, by maligning you to your family. Imagine taking care of a man not related by blood to you for free. How can they do that to you.

No wonder, you got so depressed. I am sorry, you undergo that bad experience.

It’s time for you to look for a job and be happy with it.

Good luck and I hope you will find a job that can compensate your effort well and be happy having the job.

      • My family put it in a way it looked as it is my duty and it is unreasonable to take any compensation because everybody has financial problems.
I know that caregivers get payment, but i was just trying to be nice.
That old man was absolutely disgusting to me, but we ARE family related, still he is not my father. My father is still vital and well.
Finding job in my situation is more than complicated as I have 3 children and my mother in law who lives close to me is in no condition to babysit the entire day.
So, now I am looking part time but there is nothing fitting and at teh time I am home.
Thank you for kind words, I am trying to get out under the weather as soon as possible.

    • Caregivers become depressed frequently in caring for residents/elderly. Most people think that this profession is easy, but it is not an easy job. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant of 24 years and I know the stressful things that come along with being a caregiver of someone or many people. Sometimes, we as caregivers, might work for a company and they are short-handed. This company might not be able to keep employees so the back-lash is always on the ones that they choose to keep. Sometimes the ratio of how many residents/patients that you have to care for on a day to day basis, is too much for one caregiver to handle. This goes on constantly with certain companies and they are getting away with the mistreating of employees through this particular phase. I am very aware of the ratio- CNA to resident/patient within a 3 different shift basis. You have usually these particular shifts…7-3,3-11,11-7 and sometimes you may work 7-7 shift, both am and pm. These particular shifts, you are required to care of a certain amount of residents/patients, that is legal by the state. If you are required to take care of residents/patients that are more than the state requires, then your employer is at fault within the state laws and regulation. I must admit, these employers are often getting away with this.
I feel that something needs to happen for this situation to be resolved. I can not be the only mouth that puts these things out there…It is wrong for us as caregivers to go through this treatment at any cost. This is one thing that becomes stressful and you may become depressed if it is not handled and you are continuing to work at this place, trying to hold on to your job.
I do believe that the state is not on top of the care in these places like they should be. They do more attacking on the caregiver more so than the employer. That is not right because the employer is not always right but the employer has ways to hide their wrong….regarding paperwork when DHEC comes to visit. They usually get heads-up when DHEC is getting ready to come, so they go around the facility and make sure every employee is on point by knowing what to say if asked a question, and falsifying information on paperwork, etc. I have seen it all. Everything that you bear witness to working in this profession, you hold on to that…its wrong! This also causes depression because you know in your heart, that this action is wrong and really you can’t do anything about it. If you try, you will be retaliated against, by being fired, lied on, etc.
Caregivers sometimes go through these obstacles or they might be going through something else….usually using the things that they are experiencing as an excuse to become abusive, neglecting a patient, etc.
This is just as bad. If you are considering a field in being a caregiver, it is not an easy job. It requires patience, to be able to handle the elderly in a certain manner of being passionate about the way you approach them and the warmness that they should get from you as a person. When the elderly meet you for the first time, they should feel warm inside, not scared of you because you talk loud, you don’t look at them in their eyes, etc. Rather you realize it or not, this sets a presence with them. It might take a minute to be able to warm up to them and it might take a minute for them to warm up to you as well. Once you past that test, it will become more easy because the patient will most likely let you in their world. No matter what I have experienced in this profession, I will continue to value the love and passion that I have in caring for our seniors’!

    • You are so lucky to be living in a place where strawberries are abundant. How much do they sell it there? Here it is expensive because it is not indigenous here in our province.

Indeed, berries all have their anti-oxidant aspect as I have read. Not only is strawberry delicious but so nutritious.

I like putting it in milk and eat it that way. You see, i don’t like milk. But when it is with strawberry or strawberry flavored I do drink milk.

    • So, living in Trinidad means a guarantee of 100 years life without any heart problems and Cancer. I like this fruit. But, this is not grown in India as per my knowledge. We only import these fruits. There are some fruit shops where I have noticed them. The price is not abnormal. They give for a reasonable price. As you suggested I have not seen any green cap over them at the tip. This means they are not fresh but only imported from another country through proper packing.

This is also my favorite fruit but next to Mango. I like Strawberry juice very much. This will be my first choice of drink everywhere. As far as the ice-cream is concerned I give it is my second choice as the first being the Chocolate.

Cassy Janine wrote a new post, Unwanted Plants In Your Backyards That Is Beneficial 7 years, 5 months ago

Weeds are actually irritating when you see them around your ground or in the garden. We always think of them as an unwanted plant because they share soil nutrients with your flowering or fruit-bearing plants. And […]

    • Hmm, that is very good to know! Though, I am not familiar with those kinds of weeds.

Maybe I should take note of the weeds in my parents’ house because they have a very wide lawn at the front and at the back of the house.

Actully, there are a lot of plants we don’t know that exists just in our backyard. Had we known their health benefits, we will surely get them to eat.

    • Some shrubs and weeds possess a great medicinal value which we do not know and understand. It is only the herbologists who identify them and put them into use. Without knowing anything about these weeds it is not good to allow them to grow. There are some weeds which are poisonous also. Our children will be playing near them and may come into contact with these poisonous weeds, which sometimes may prove fatal.
If we find such weeds and shrubs in the backyard of the house we should contact a herbologist immediately and show them the weeds and seek his opinion as to the danger involved in allowing them to grow. Then we should act accordingly. Sometimes, they become centers for snakes, scorpions to live in. In such cases, we should immediately burn them.
No doubt, they may be having some benefits only after processing. We can not process them. We can not eat and chew them unless there is no threat to our life.
I did some study on these plants, shrubs, and weeds when I was visiting Srisailam which is having a dense forest covering hundreds of kilometers. I contacted many people and noted down the points relating to many of them. But, all of them are useful only after they are processed and can not be used raw. What is the use of it?
There is a shrub/small plant known by the name Gymnema Sylvestre which is called in the local language as PODAPATRI. The leaves are useful in lowering the sugar level. Once a herbalist offered me 2 leaves and requested me to taste some sugar. Amazing…I could not feel the sweetness of sugar at all. I chewed it like sand particles. Later he informed me that it is used in most of the Dia products.
As it was quite interesting to know about it, I collected some 6 leaves from him and took to the office. During lunch hour while we were on some casual discussion I offered 2 leaves to my colleague and asked her to chew and tell the taste of sugar. She chewed them and said she is getting giddiness. I was shocked. She was not having sugar. The dosage of 2 leaves was more for her. She got giddiness. Now after some time she seated herself in the chair itself and fell asleep for an hour. Was I not wrong to offer her without knowing anything?

Better it is always to clean them out of the house.

When you go around the city, you can see a lot of teenagers carrying their babies with them. They could be 16, 17, or 18 to 19 years old.

Teenage pregnancy is not anymore a surprise to us. It is more likely to be […]

    • Teen pregnancy has become more popular over the years due to lack of parenting. If parents taught the kids any good value or taught them to respect there self it would not be so Common. (referring to teens that are pregnant at age 13-17) or how about the show teen mom I feel it is influenceing teens to get pregnant.

    • Another thing is that teeenagers, girls at that, drink alcoholic drinks with their friends , mostly boys. So what do you expect when all gets too drunk. The girls are without inhibition already and would have sex with their intoxicated male friends. Some gets raped.

Besides, the proliferation of X-rated movies that are easily accessible at the internet, wakes up their sexual urges, so much so that when their boyfriends would ask for it, they would easily give in , out of curiosity of how it feels.

    • Most Filipinos are not as open when it comes to topic of sex. We felt that they will eventually learn it through their science class. We take for granted that they will learn it in time.

It may also be the emotional side of it. Maybe they feel that their boyfriend is their ‘forever’ and does not have the heart to lose him. Also, it is their way of showing their love for their man.

Sadly, the percentage of teenage pregnancy is soaring high.

    • I think we can all blame TV and these young kids pretty much selling sex.

This actually I have planned for my house. The plant will be outdoor only but will be grown inside without affecting our normal work and atmosphere. The house planner has given me a great design and idea.

The jasmine flower gives out very sweet smell during night times in the summer season. We should water the plant regularly during summer seasons.
Hibiscus will come in red and Orange colors. I grew an orange colored one but I have not seen the Yellow one. I also do not aware that the leaves and flowers can be used in the preparation of tea. Thanks for this information.
