Some years ago, on another site, I wrote an article about the Black Plague.

I researched the Bubonic plague, and got a great deal of information. I posted my first article on the topic. I was quite proud of it […]

    • This has happened to me before too. Then I realized that you and another can bother be doing research and information can lead you to taling about the same topic but in different ways. It’s still good to check in on a topic that looks similar to yours to make sure though.

      • Oh yes… that is key. Make sure; but also I find that when I’m writing I have to NOT read any one else’s stuff so that I don’t wind up taking ‘your’ topic.

It was amazing, I’m in Jamaica, the chap was in England, and I was watching the BBC World Service News, which touched on Bubonic Plague and ran to research it. He was watching the News on the BBC, which ran the same story, and he was fascinated by various plagues.

    • It also happens here in Philippines, bias news, fake news, unreliable news, the only reason is to create trouble and release their hatred, to scam and to distort the minds of the people. It is not only fake news, likewise fake persons. Just recently one young lady was stabbed to death after meeting a boy friend met in Facebook. It is not wise to accept someone;s love on line hehehe. Fortunately, the suspects is o detained in jail. He left something in the crime scene with his name inscribed on it, so God does not sleep and the criminal must pay. That is why, there are are many fake persons not only ads or news,LOL.

      • Many years ago, as a project, I joined dating sites, (I wrote about it on this site somewhere) and it was clear to me that a lot of what was there was untrue. But people are too gullible. They believe things without proof.

Exactly.   For example, certain days you set to cook.  You prepare stuff for the week.  Then you go to work.  You can set time to clean or not clean, watch TV or not watch.  You get a power of yourself you can never have when you live with people.

kaylar wrote a new post, Exploring The Mother / Daughter Alliance 7 years, 11 months ago

In many parts of the world, women have learned that they can never trust a man. Whether it is part of a culture where a man has more than one wife or where adultery is ‘normal’, women make alliances with other […]

    • Wow well written truth be told mums and daughters share very many secrets together yet no one else would know. I am a woman but the truth is I don’t like it when some women join alliances with their mother’s to ruin the relationship between them and their spouse’s. I think that’s wrong and it should not be encouraged by anyone.
For me i believe that when you choose to love someone, get into that relationship with the intention of growing both of you and not your mother of father. Remember that it is about the two of you, make that your business. Many people get into marriages for th3 some purpose of enriching themselves bad their families and that’s very sad and unfortunate. I even know of someone who got married, to a lovely lady who he thought was his world, he would do all sorts of good things for her take her places, but her gifts and so on and so forth, not knowing that one day he would be damped for reasons he never understood. After doing all this things an being divorced he comes to the realization that he was duped, and that everything that he did and bought all went in the hands of the woman and her mother. He was left empty with nothing to hold onto. It was very unfortunate the last was in cohorts with the mother to dwindle the poor guy and they managed quite easily.
So when women do these things really they need to think about the reasons that took them into that marriage in the first place. So not use someone’s feelings to your own advantage it hurts. And for the mother’s who encourage their daughter’s to do such things should really consider what if that boy who is being duped was their son how would they feel?

Although we can debate the selection of What to Watch as being a ‘challenge’,  I would prefer to label it more of a ponder than a problem.

There is an enormous variety of programs going back to 1950s and forward […]

    • yes, This is really a challenge If not one there are many other sites which can be found to view the targeted show. Be it a serial or a movie the aim is to search and find the appropriate site.
The only thing one requires is patience
I, most of the times do the same thing If I lose any episode I search for it. I choose a site which is free from advertisements and then I prefer it. This saves our time and most importantly we can enjoy the movie or show without any disturbance during the show

      • Sometimes you will find that the episode is not there or some kind of problem viewing it. I move to another site. In a way, the Internet is a ‘new world’ where there is always another site.

    • I find it very relaxing myself. I can shut the show when I have to take a call or go out…

kaylar wrote a new post, Me Nah Want Old Bruk 7 years, 11 months ago

The title can be translated as “I don’t want old things.”  It should not be said by someone in poverty who is offered second hand clothing.    It should not be said when religious organisations from America se […]

    • In America we have Goodwill stores. They take second hand stuff and sell it at really low prices. It’s for low income people, but anybody can shop there and buy lots of used items at great prices. I can understand if people don’t want you dumping on them. I mean … giving something a dog wouldn’t even wear. But used clothing is nothing new. (Excuse the pun.) If you came from a big family, you probably wore hand me downs. I suspect an ulterior motive is behind requesting new items instead of “old bruk”. I don’t know what the reasoning is, but I do know charity is charity and it doesn’t wear a mask. A person who receives charity is usually grateful for whatever they get. I know I am! Most of my clothes are “old bruk” and also my other property (TVs, furniture, etc.) is “old bruk”.

      • I know what you are saying. We gave things to Good Will, and it has only been in the past few years that I’ve been dumping them.

It is so bad, that Politicians do NOT give money to parents who beg for school fees… they pay the fees to the school because the mother will take the money to get another tattoo.
