@grecy095/
ah yes, those magazines are great to read too.
However, I don’t buy them.
I would be broke if I were to buy each of them every month!
However, it is hard to get 2nd hand magazines now.
I saw there is a bookshop that sells left over magazines which are a few months back.
However, the front cover of the magazines were torn off…[Read more]

I sure missed Lemon chicken.
Used to order this chicken dish at local restaurant but a little pricey since the GST tax was implemented.
Hence, I will be hunting down for the recipe and try it out.
Fresh lemon juice mix with honey drizzle over fried chicken, that would be delicious and tasty

I love reading reader’s digest too because there are lots to read from there. I started reading it when I was young because my cousin loves reading sort of magazine like that. She buys the second hand, as well as her pocketbook are all second hand too.
Aside from that, I love magazines that talks about interior, fashion magazine and all about…[Read more]

I just found out this Summer theme curriculum given for free from Your Natural Learner, it is part of her nature-inspired homeschool preschool curriculum. I just think it might be useful for anyone who has preschoolers at home and want to engage them to the nature during the Summer time.
I am not using her curriculum, but I just like to idea of e…[Read more]

I totally agree with you. I have really just started listening to my CDs from the 90s and early 2000s. Anymore the music just is a bunch of words with no meaning or like you said about hooking up, drugs, or violence. It’s sad because this is the music that kids are growing up to now and they wouldn’t know good music when they hear it. Because…[Read more]

I agree. Sometimes, I think I could have come up with a better song than one that has about 4 lines and they are just repeated over and over again. I think they are just trying to see who can out do each other with redundant and senseless lyrics. I want something that means something and something that is going to evoke an emotion in me.

My father always watched 60 minutes when he was alive. I did not realize that Morley Safer was still on there. That is incredible. He definitely seen a lot and reported many historical events in his time. It is a great loss and my thoughts go out to his family at this time.

Morley Safer died today at the age of 84, days after announcing his retirement. He was a t.v. journalist for CBS and was later a member of the news show “60 Minutes.” He was on “60 Minutes” for 46 years!!
He must have witnessed a lot of historical events in his life and probably reported on a lot of them as well. May he R.I.P.

@kaka135 she told me that she feel I was very eager to learn and separate myself from the habits of some students, my classmates. I proved to her that I really want to learn that is why she supported me. I guess we were soulmates during that time because we always understand each other and it was easy for both of us to believe on each other. I…[Read more]

I don’t know whether you can get grants for online courses.
However, I had took up Secretarial online course before, had to pay cash and when I paid full amount, I got 20% discount for that.
Maybe you could write an email to the Ministry of Education for help.
However, I doubt online courses are entitled for grants.
Usually, grants are for…[Read more]

@Lee Ka then you are blessed to have a very supportive husband! Congratulations! Not all women have the same situation as yours. Keep up with that harmonious relationship and nothing can go between the two of you.
Lola replied to the topic Learning On-line in the forum Education & Reference 8 years, 6 months ago
I did my master’s online and if anything, it was harder than classes I took in a classroom. People think online degrees are goof off courses, no way. I had to write so many papers and do so many creative projects each week that I considered dropping out so many times. I actually had to take an extension on one final course project due to stress.
JoDee Stout started the topic Learning On-line in the forum Education & Reference 8 years, 6 months ago
I have often thought about further my education on-line instead of going to a college or vocational school. As with every thing schooling costs and I wonder if you could get grants to help pay for on-line courses?
Anyway, what do you think of getting college credits/courses on-line?
Lee Ka replied to the topic Teachers Spending Out of Pocket for Supplies in the forum Education & Reference 8 years, 6 months ago
@peachpurple I also do not think the teachers here spend their own money to buy the supplies, as their pay per month is not high, I think.

@4cryingoutloud Yes, I guess those who chose to homeschool do not worry about socializing so much. There are many ways to do so. Moreover, I think if the child doesn’t like to socialize with others, it’s his personality, and we shouldn’t force him too. There are kids who went to school but didn’t socialize with others at all.
Actually I am not so…[Read more]

I guess I should note that I’m a bit bias about the socialization piece as I was a public school teacher for 5 years and a private school teacher for 2 😛
