Why did they let the girls work? They were working as stage hands, etc on school plays.

@kaka135 awesome!! I’m glad to hear that you home school! That’s what my on-line friends said as well about the socializing. I’m sure your children are very well educated and adjusted!!
As far as the socializing, I tend to see children in school, don’t socialize really..they have their video games, tablets and iphones they’re into.

@peachpurple I studied in Chinese private school, so either one of the subjects does not meet the passing score, which is 50% for us, we can’t move to the next level.
I am sorry you have such experience. I guess sometimes it’s really hard when you are not studying what you love. I thought teachers should always care for those who are leaving…[Read more]

@slayer08 Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree with you, we need to stand up and protect ourselves. Since you were not disturbing others, I do not understand why there was people trying to bully you.
I just asked my husband lately, and he told me he has experienced the similar thing as you too. He was quiet in school as well, and did not…[Read more]

@jentleheart Yes, I totally agree with you. I am glad both my husband and I are on board, and we are on the same page too. We usually talk about how we want to raise our children, and discuss on certain topics that we might be facing, so we are aligned and the children will not be confused too.
Yes, I am experiencing different stages of the child…[Read more]

I was thinking if I should start a topic about homeschooling, and wonder if there will be any responses. Glad that you have started this topic. 😀
We are homeschooling family, and my son just started his grade 1 journey.
I understand the main concern about homeschooling is that the homeschooled children might lack of socializing with others, but…[Read more]

Here in Spain homeschooling is not common. In fact, I have never heard of any parents homeschooling their children.

I think that homeschooled children end up with a better education than those that attend traditional school because they get an individualized education. I do worry though that some kids miss out on other points of view or socialization opportunities with other kids though.

First, i would like to commend any parent that is home schooling their child. As I single parent I wasn’ t able to home school my children. I also always thought that being home schooled the child wouldn’t have interaction with children of their age.
I have several on-line friends who home schooled their children and I commend them for doing t…[Read more]
Even as adults, they don’t seem to understand they were abused and taken advantage of. That group of girls – now grown women – threw him a going away party when he moved to Florida. This is really sickening! I wonder why the school district did not report him at all. It’s a serious crime, and he should be put in jail.
It’s sad to hear such news, especially when we used to think how important a teacher is to a child, as a teacher might influence a child in his life. It’s so sad that there are such teachers who are taking…[Read more]

Thankfully this didn’t happen to me, but happened to some of my friends and my cousin.
My 8th grade English teacher was a little strange, but we thought that was because he taught the gifted English classes. One assignment he did every year was for us to write about something we’d never told anyone. Later people figured out that is how he f…[Read more]

@peachpurple it has different situations here. Some poor families, those who are hollering around the streets are the bullies of the streets as they are throwing stones to the cars. At school, some kids who have anything because it was all given by his or her parents, bully someone, thinking that he or she can get all, even making other students…[Read more]

@peachpurple my teacher is very patient and passionate with her teachings. If she sees a student doing an effort and doing her best to learn, she will support it. She saw that in me, she told me before I graduated. She even know I will soar high because of Chemistry. I guess you really need a deeper understanding because Chemistry is easy if you…[Read more]

@icybc I have always been wanting a big book shelves that are up to the ceiling when I was younger, but now as I prefer less stuffs and simple life, I do not dream for this anymore. I love both to read. Hardbound or softbound books have the same content with their equivalent in ebooks format. The latter could be accessed anywhere as long as there is an Internet connection. It is handier or convenient as compared to the physical books. And you don’t have to buy them. Unless they are not available for free you have to pay them.

@Lee Ka You have a long way to go! Lol It’ll be a roller coaster ride. But just remain strong and always make your husband be a part of everything. I am saying this because there are husbands that just rely on their wives when it comes to disciplining their kids. And they just become their kids’ older buddy. And when moms scold the kids, they…[Read more]

honestly, I have never read stories online like ebooks which are popular.
I do not know where to find any children stories to read.
I prefer to read hard paper back story books, children fable stories by Enid blyton’s ,Mark Twain, these are good books to occupy my time.
In addition, I also read stories to my boy during bed time.
He loves fable…[Read more]
