I love Italian cuisine! I think I may be a little bit biased when it comes to food from this country but there is something about the Italian’s way of cooking that made me fall in love with their food. It could be the fresh ingredients, the really simple way they cook food or the flavor combination – who knows! But since I really like Italian food, it is no wonder that I usually prefer to dine in Italian restaurants when we are dining out on weekends.
I have a few must-try Italian restaurants over here but this restaurant is something I considered as one of the best. One of our favorite Italian restaurants here is called Manifesto. It is not very accessible (to us) because it is a little bit outside the city center so it’s been a while since we’ve been there. Since having a baby, we decided not to dine in places too cramped or not too accessible to us to avoid stressing out – and sadly, Manifesto is one of those types of restaurants. But now that my son is a little bit bigger (and a HUGE pasta eater), it’s time to come back!
We decided to book for an early dinner reservation one weekend so our son can also have his dinner over there. I was so excited to go to Manifesto that evening because it’s almost close to three years since the last time I dined there.
Manifesto is mostly well-known for their stone oven cooked pizza but since my son will join us for dinner, we decided to buy one pizza dish and one pasta dish to share. For our pasta dish, we decided to try and order the N’dunderi Alle Vongole E Pesto Al Prezzemolo, which they described as a Medieval dish resurrected by the restaurant. And for the pizza, we ordered our usual Don Corleone – a pizza with Italian sausages and broccoli.
It was a little bit early for dinner so the staff wasn’t too busy yet. We were attended to immediately and my son given a booster seat. In general, Italians like children so a few staff even dropped by to say hi to my little boy – and he loved the attention as always.
Food arrived and I was very pleased the food quality and the way I remembered Manifesto was still the same. Too bad I was too hungry or too excited, I forgot to take a photo of the pizza! To top it off, I had a nice chocolate mousse for dessert – yum!
If I would have any complaints is the fact that most (if not all) of their staff are Italian. Some might’ve just started studying English so it was hard to “request” for anything (we tried to request for all our food to arrive at the same time but the server did not get it).
Overall, Manifesto is still one of my favorite Italian restaurants around and hope that I can dine there frequently!

Sounds like a pretty good restaurant. Where is the restaurant located? The portions seem alright because you stated that you and your son were able to share a dish. Italian food is delicious and it's great to be able not only have a great meal but to enjoy the scenery as well while dining. Keep enjoying Manifesto. Have a great weekend.
Yeah they are one of our go-to restaurants here. It is located in Rathmines (Ireland). The complete address is also included in the article and the website but not sure why it shows as an anchor text (About Us).
Here where I live we hardly have any choice of restaurants but during my tours I have tried every kind of cuisine Italian included.
Oh when traveling, it is a must to try out different cuisines - especially if you don't have it handy in your local area.
Seems you had a great time!
Oh yeah we did! It's especially nice to be able to eat in restaurants we used to visit but haven't visited since having a baby :)
Wow, what a wonderful wold and moment of your own.
Oh it was definitely nice eating out - especially now that my son is a lot manageable when dining out. :)
The food looks absolutely stunning! I have also had some really great experiences bringing small children to a traditional Italian restaurant. The food and service were impeccable, but it was the way the staff catered to our little one's needs and called her by pet names that really left an impression.
I hope you get to return to Manifesto as often as you'd like!
Oh definitely! Italians like kids in general since my son was pretty "popular" especially with the grannies when we went to Rome last year, too.
I hope so, too! I mean, things are starting to "feel" a little bit better when it comes to dining out with our son. So I am hoping that we get to return to eat on restaurants we avoided the past 2 years!
