I have been on several package holidays and travel agents normally dish out a pretty good fare for us. Having said that it is left to us to make the best of what is on offer. I have a few suggestions.
1. It is important that you get an idea of the group that you will be joining. You should have a few who have your level.
2. Travel Agents hand over a list of what is required that we bring along. Different country needs are different. That list needs to be strictly followed. Apart from this list a personal check list needs to be made so that all what is required is taken along.
I remember someone had forgotten her medicines and getting medicines in a foreign country is next to impossible unless one gets a prescription from one of the doctors there which is prohibitively expensive.
3. Some passengers make others wait. This is alright for parties where some like to make a grand entry. This is not tolerated on package holidays.
4. Travel very light. That is no place to go on a fashion parade.
5. These tour packages are no doubt expensive but it would be good to sign up for all options as it is not everyday that one gets to visit a country. Each country has special sights that one should experience.
6. This suggestion may be quite amusing and that is your luggage should look as mediocre as possible as any swank looking luggage could be targets for robbery. I tied a string round my VIP suitcase just to give it a shabby look.
7. Remember to take adapters for your gadgets specially for mobile chargers and also for your camera battery chargers. The electricity in many countries does not always match with your own country.
8. These holidays always involve a lot of walking. A good pair of shoes that make walking easy could get you back home with great memories.
9. And last but not the least make a checklist of what you want to buy. You would have already studied about the speciality of those countries where you have plans to go on holiday.

I agree with all of the above. Many times when people are travelling they always feel like they need to carry everything that they own especially when it's your first time. But it's always good to know where your going and what you will need. The lesser luggage you carry the better for you. The first time I tea Eller I remember I wanted to carry the whole of my wardrobe my perfumes jewellry you name it until I was told that where I was going all the things that I want to carry are there, that's when I realized aahh am not rlocating am just going on vacation hahaha talk aboutbeing green on some issues.
I never liked to use the bathtub in hotels and so I carried a mug with me to use it for my bath. I called for a bucket and so used to have a bucket bath (lol)
