Most people don’t even want to hear the word ‘tofu’ much less cook or eat it.
That is because most people never tasted tofu that has had some effort put into its’ preparation.
This particular recipe is fairly simple and carnivores tell me this tastes like bacon.
To me, they taste so good, I often forget I made them to go in a chow mein or stew or curry. I start chomping on them and soon, they are gone.
This particular recipe must be done in a micro-wave oven.
Begin with your tofu. Either frozen and thawed enough to cut, or directly from the fridge.
Frozen tofu has a different consistency than room temperature of refrigerated tofu .
It is more chewy and less dense, (if that makes sense).
Cut the tofu into thin slats, about 1/2 inch wide. You want something that isn’t completely atomised.
Soak these strips of tofu in the Sauce. You make the sauce with 1/3 pancake syrup (or honey) 1/3 barbecue sauce and 1/3rd orange juice. Yes. Orange Juice.
Mix these ingredients together with a spoon of jerk seasoning (or other sharp pepper).
Soak the tofu for awhile, then, using a little olive oil on a plate to coat, pour some of the mixture at the bottom, put down the tofu, and put the rest of the mixture on top of the tofu.
Put the plate (a microwavable one) into the micro at High for 13 minutes.
Let the tofu sit in the microwave for 5 minutes once it’s done.
When you look at the tofu it should be very crispy on the edges, a little soft in the centre.
If it is not like this, put it back in for three minutes, then let sit in the micro for three minutes.
Keep doing this until it gets there.
Most usually the stickies can be used in Chinese dishes or used as a carnivore would use bacon.
It is a really nice recipe and once you get the hang of it you’ll find many uses for it.

Two types of recipes I'm starting to collect: sushi and tofu. This one will find its way to my foodie blog.
When you make it the first time you taste it and keep tasting and it's gone. My carnivorous friend said it tasted like bacon.
Tofu which we call paneer here is in great demand specially with Punjabi dishes. Matar Paneer is the dish that is often seen in many restaurants. Your recipe looks interesting.
Tofu needs to be seasoned and made into what you want, not just fried and flung on a plate. Too many people don't put effort into their tofu
