Our life is bogged down with clouds that show up anytime and at any age. Some are dark clouds that the weak of heart and faith would not know how to handle or know what to do and where to go but if one has a positive attitude, hidden in there one can see rays of hope – a silver lining in a dark cloud.
It is our attitude that makes us or breaks us and not the circumstances we are placed in.
I have, over a period of time learnt to have a positive attitude. This has helped me wade through difficult times without having to change them.
Here is an example
We had thunder, lightning, winds and rain for three continuous nights and the authorities cut off our electricity supply for almost a full day. The most hit were our fridges that were loaded.
That gave me an opportunity to clean the fridges that were unattended for a long time. There was stuff to be thrown out too.
Looking at those fridges now, so neat clean I have forgotten those horrible times when I had no computer, nor tv.

After almost 3 years I was attending a get together of classmates. I made all the arrangements and was looking forward to this event. But it was not to be. I just could not as something came in the way. When I heard about the event the next day I was relieved that I did not go as there was this person who also came and I did not want to meet that person.
The moral of the story is that there is no situation where one cannot see some politive silver linings. All what is required is a positive attitude and equipped with that one will find life is a one happy song clouds or no clouds.

I remember a day like that. We were prepared for a large family gathering around Thanksgiving but nobody came. It was both a disappointment and a relief. If we had known nobody was coming we would have certainly made less food and had far less leftovers to stock up in the refrigerator. Also, I enjoyed quality time with my wife with nobody talking and walking around picking up pie and talking while the show was on.
You were able to see that silver lining. Only positive thinkers can do that and you are one.
Oh so that is the meaning of silver lining. All the while I thought that it was the striking cloud across the skY!

My brother in law had invited all his siblings for his birthday party except us.
My MIL asked him why we didn't attend his birthday party.
Actually he purposely didn't invite us, for some gossips that he had heard from his other siblings.
Then after a few weeks, we caught up with my MIL.
Surprisingly, the party wasn't a good one.
My niece had ordered a buffet dinner but she did not paid for it and my MIL had to pay for the bill.
Of course my brother in law refused to pay because it was her daughter's idea to start the party.
Everyone was gossiping about how ungrateful he and his daughter were.
