Life in an environmental noise, how it is harmful

Over the past decades, the noise level in cities has increased six times. And more than half of Earth’s population is suffering from insomnia and chronic fatigue. What is the relation between these things? Direct. The drone of the cars, howling alarms, buzzer of the computers and home appliances, the chatter of the colleagues and passers – modern townsfolk is living in the constant chaos of the sounds.

The first sign that the ears are tired of environmental noise – unknown from nowhere coming tingle, hiss or ringing, reminiscent of pulsation. The optimal solution for the health – to drop everything and go to live in the village. Of course, there are other solutions to reduce noise around you and avoid serious health problems.

Our ancestors have not heard anything louder than thunder, but modern people do not even pay attention to what is called – the voice of big cities. The noise, especially sudden and unusual, causes the release of adrenaline in the human body, an increased frequency of the heart beat, blood pressure rises and blood vessel narrowing. Stronger noise disturbs sleep, reduces efficiency and immunity, can become a reason of  the blood vessels and nervous system illnesses, not to mention the problems with hearing.

The sounds of the forest or the sea are three times quieter than urban sounds. That’s why they do not irritate, but calm the nervous system. Even psychotherapists prescribe sounds of nature and music therapy as a treatment for the insomnia or chronic depression. It is necessary to allow your ears to rest. Ideally, for urban people at least once a month to go to places where the sound level is lower.  A good idea is to listen to relaxing music before bedtime. Very good are also the natural sounds. The most important thing is to find the music you like, and half an hour before sleep relish for 15 minutes.

Metropolitan sounds are annoying cerebral cortex, and in permanent effect, are capable to provoke insomnia. Similarly, we are influenced by computers and other similar devices, if they are being used regularly. After a hard work day, we can be in complete silence, but still to feel the noise inside, it is a psychological condition. In order to deal with it, after returning home need to try to relax in the silence of the apartment, to focus on the body, to the inner senses and do some breathing exercises. By concentrating on ourselves, we become less vulnerable.

If you like the ear headphones, you will have to say goodbye to them. The headphones with soft cushions are a better choice. Ear sink protects the eardrum not only from water and bacteria, but also from the strong sounds.  In-ear headphones are designed so that the sound from them immediately enters the hearing aid and the inner ear, and it may be traumatized. Add-headphones in this regard are safer because they have soft cushions, which snuggle to the skin. It’s advised not to be with headphones for more than an hour during the day and every 10-15 minutes to take a break.  The greatest damage to your ears and the whole well-being you do when listening to music with headphones while being a noisy part of town.

    • I am facing the same problem near my house. There are bikes buzzing by honking, cars using their horns aloud for every five seconds for no rhyme or reason. People shouting, children screaming aloud, people playing music at more than 50 decibels in the morning, places of religious worship using loud speakers as early as 5 in the morning, sound of trains, construction work.

All this irritates me to no end and I find difficult to be there. These people do not seem to understand how much of a nuisance they are to others. I really dread to think what would be the fate of the elderly and the infants. This senseless behavior by humans spoils health of people in the long run. Mobiles are one more distraction. People walk on the roads and speak aloud as if they are speaking in their house. I hope laws come where all these will be made punishable.
