Left over foods from OSCARS 2017 used to feed the needy

Did you know – this time around, OSCARS 2017 is also in news for some real good reasons. The most talked about celebrity event worldwide sees a lot of wastage of food every year, only this year they came up with the idea of treating the needy with the left over foods from the Oscar party.

The biggest bash of the Hollywood is known world wide, and specially for the lavish party and the celebrity presence in it. This year, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck catered to the guest list with his mouth watering preparations. The extensive and elaborate menu consisted of some specialties like taro root tacos with shrimp, mango, avocado and chipotle aioli to lobster corn dogs and luxurious gold-dusted truffle popcorn.

This year, Indian actress and Slumdog Millionaire lead Frieda Pinto took the initiative to disburse the left over food items among the needy, hungry residents of Los Angeles, a really appreciated gesture. Frieda took help San Francisco based food recovery technology company Copia to ensure no party food was wasted.  Frieda did post loads of pictures to her Instagram and claimed to feed as many as 800 people with the leftover food from all the Oscars weekend parties. Something highly commendable and leading example.

There are almost 780 million of hungry people across the world, mostly from developing countries, who finds it difficult to feed themselves. While one part of the world struggles for food, the other section keeps wasting food. If an attempt is made to channelize those wasted and leftover foods, then probably the hungry stomachs will come down by many, an effort worth trying. Surely, if someone had really made an impression at the Oscars then it has to be none other than Frieda Pinto, with her humanitarian gesture. And by this act of her, we are sure, she is going to get lots of blessings.
