Learning to Write About Gratitude

I am at the point of life where things are not good. So one of the friend online once suggested me to write about gratitude. His suggestion was to write about things I am grateful for in my life. And he wanted me to jot down all the points for which I am supposed to feel good for long. So I tried that formula but it was not easy to stay up with the gratitude journal for long. I don’t know the reason being I have not much achieved in my life. In fact as days passing ahead, I feel like losing out on life. So that was the part where I had to change the way I was writing the gratitude journal.

So one of the friend online told me that she writes about good things she did. And also writes about things she want to do in future. So this was a good change for me. I decided to follow that part. And I think I am going to keep it that way. The reason being making a list of good things that I did definitely makes it difference if you practice daily. Gratitude also helps with my meditation. I used to have some stress before going for meditation. I managed that with some breathing habit. And also learned how to control some of my habits of thinking about future. I think lot of such small things are controlled due to that. I would say everyone should try gratitude when they have some mid life crisis. Because that habit definitely works for long term in the life.

I think habit of thinking about past action and future actions is another part to take control of. If you do understand how to control that then surely you may have a much better edge over situation. So it all comes down to how we handle the present. Small steps and the better decision is what we need to do. If we can do that then surely we get much ahead in the life. Depression and anxiety are the worst demons to deal with. And it’s not something many of us can easily deal. Because here our own brain betrays us. So it all comes down to how we slow down and let our brain live in present.
