Kenya was blown by the magic of Lance Klusener in CWC 1999

In the 20th match of the ICC cricket world cup, South Africa was against the Kenya team. This game was played on VRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen, England on 26th May, 1999. Kenya started very well and both openers K Otieno and Ravi shah batted well and provided good start but when they both were dismissed, kenya kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for only 152 runs in 44.3 over’s and Ravi shah managed to top scored for them as he scored 50 runs in 64 balls with 7 4’s and strike rate of 78 runs in 100 balls and K Otieno scored 26 runs in 42 balls with 3 4’s.

South Africa was required to score 153 runs in 50 over’s to win this game.

South Africa batted well and chased the target easily in only 41 over’s with only loss of 3 wickets with the contributions of South Africa’s prime all rounder J kaliis who made 44 runs in 81 balls with 4 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 54 runs in 100 balls.

South Africa won the match by 7 wickets in hand with 54 balls still remaining to be bowled.

Lance Klusener was the Man of the match for his 5 wickets by only conceding 21 runs in 8.3 over’s.
