As we age, there are things in life we wanted to correct or to rectify. We learn to be strong by being less worrisome, letting little mistakes pass so as not to get stressed.
Some Things You Should Let Go/Let Pass:
1.When you found that your son or daughter failed to clean the house, it is so messy and you could not stand the sight and smell inside.
Never blurt or scold them; it will raise your blood pressure and it will affect your health and good disposition. Just lest it pass, but tell them in a low tone that you do not want the same mistake again when they disobeyed your order to clean the house.
This situation is common in households who do not have helpers to do the chores, and it is the children who were taught to be responsible by helping the family have a clean home.
2. When the person set an appointment with you but failed to show up.
Never be tensed, cursing the person who failed to come on the agreed time. Give him the benefit of the doubt, like he might had been caught in traffic snarl, or if something happened to him or to his family that’s why he failed to come early, or if there are other circumstances he could not avoid that caused him to be so late.
3. When the package you are waiting for did not come on the agreed date of delivery.
Like No. 2, there could be some unavoidable happenings that might caused the delay, however, it is your right as a customer to demand an explanation because your time was wasted waiting for it.
4. When relatives or friends failed to visit you when you were sick, or when there is a very important event in your home.
Do not sulk for their failure. They too have their own lives and might be so busy that’s why they failed to show up.
5. When your favorite figurine/display in your living room was broken by your naughty nephew.
Just be silent, do not curse the kid, because he might be traumatized by it. Remember that you can still find another figurine that could be as beautiful, but you can not replace the trust and attention of that child who might bear in mind that you are not a “kind” auntie. He might carry it all through his life!
These are just some of the situations where you temper could be tested.
Controlling Your Temper
Controlling your temper is the best key to being composed and calm during such undesirable situations. You will be so happy by being so mild-manner. They will respect you for such an amiable attitude.
Always bear in mind: You will not die if your house is not clean, if the person you set an appointment with did not come on time, when friends or relatives forgot to come to your important occasion, or when a favorite figurine got broken. Let the anger just pass. By then you will admire yourself because you had shown such a strong character worthy of respect.
