Internet Options

Just over twenty years ago, there were no options.  This was a site about Star Trek, that was a Site about Women’s Issues and if you got kicked off, you were alone in Cyber Limbo.

Like old time Monopolies, you would try to search for an alternate site and find nothing; if you even knew how to search in the pre-Google days.

As time passed the breaking of this one and only mentality led to many options.

Yeah, this site might not be as pretty as that one, but you could get on this site.

As watching television online has become quite popular it is not unexpected that the various ‘owners’ of the program would be attacking free sites and forcing them down.

Of course, it is not so easy when the site is in Costa Rica or Tuvalu or somewhere Not America.

Watchseries and Watchepisodes are two major sites which show Television programs which were aired years or months or even weeks ago.

Both are constantly struck by the heavy hands. No one bothers to realise that many people Not in America will Never see these programs.

Many countries, like Jamaica, will fill the airwaves with local blah blah because they can’t afford to buy these shows. Yes, they’ll recoup their money with commercials, but having one or two early seasons of dramas is the depth of their pockets.

To see a show like ‘Blue Bloods’ is not possible in Jamaica, so no one is losing any money if I view the show online, but this is not considered.

So, periodically these two sites get hit, go down about 24 hours, and then pop up again.

While they are down, one does a simply search and finds other sites which show the program for free. Sure, some of the points of access are blocked but others,  can’t be.

They can’t be because there are no laws to prevent those countries from showing those episodes.

The joy of the Internet is choice.   Endless choice.
