India won the 3rd ODI against New Zealand in Bilateralm Series, 1999

New Zealand toured India to play a 5 match One day International series. 3rd match of the series was scheduled to play on Captain Roop Singh Stadium, Gwalior, India on 11th Nov, 1999.

Both teams were playing very good cricket at that time, so it will be very interesting to see them battle in a bilateral series.

India won the toss and opts to bat first, so New Zealand will again bat 2nd and will chase whatever India will post. This is how Indian Team and 11 was looking like in this 3rd ODI: Sachin Tendulkar (c), Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Ajit Agarkar, Robin Singh, Ajay Jadeja, Debasis Mohanty, Mannava Prasad (wk),Nikhil Chopra, Vijay Bharadwaj

And this is how NZ team was looking like in this 3rd One day International: Stephen Fleming (c), Nathan Astle, Chris Cairns, Scott Styris, Daniel Vettori,Chris Harris, Adam Parore (wk), Roger Twose, Craig Spearman, Alex Tait,Chris Drum

India Again started well and with the 153 runs contribution of Saurav Ganguly in 150 balls with 18 4’s and 1 six managed to score 261 runs in 50 over’s with the loss of only 5 wickets and he was also helped my R Singh who made 45 runs in 34 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes at the strike rate of 132 runs in 100 balls.

NZ was required to score 262 runs in allotted 50 over’s to win this 3rd One day International.

New Zealand batted well and with the contribution of 97 runs if N Astle  were on winning this game but he was out by Anil K on the individual score of 97 runs in 111 balls with 8 4’s and 1 six and strike rate of 87 runs in 100 balls and this resulted in N Z losing the match by 14 runs in this match and India takes the lead of 2-1 in the series with 2 more games to play.

Saurav G was the man of the Match for his great batting display.
