India wiped Kenya out of CWC1999

In the 15th match of the ICC cricket world cup, India was against the Kenya team. This game was played on County Ground, Bristol, England on 23rd May, 1999.

Kenya won the toss and opts to bowl first and this means Indian team will bat first and set a target for Kenya to chase later.

This is how Indian team and 11 were looking like: Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Ajit Agarkar, Mohammad Azharuddin (c), Javagal Srinath, Ajay Jadeja, Nayan Mongia (wk), Debasis Mohanty, Nikhil Chopra, Sadagoppan Ramesh

And Kenya team and 11 were looking like: Steve Tikolo, Hitesh Modi, Thomas Odoyo, Kennedy Otieno (wk), Ravi Shah,Martin Suji, Aasif Karim (c), Maurice Odumbe, Sandeep Gupta, Alpesh Vadher, Joseph Angara

India batted superbly well and was no loss on 50 runs but soon Saurav ganguly were out on the Individual score of 13 runs in 26 balls. But then S Ramesh and Rahul D batted very well and India keeps piling on runs. Sachin tendulkar also batted very well and made 140 runs in 101 balls with 16 4’s and three sixes at the strike rate of 139 runs in 100 balls. Rahul D made 104 runs in 109 balls with 10 4’s and the strike rate of 95 runs in 100 balls. India posted the score of 329 runs in allotted 50 over’s at the loss of only 2 wickets.

Kenya need to score 330 runs in 50 over’s to win the match.

Kenya started very badly and Lost its 2 wickets at the team score of 29 runs in 11.2 over’s. After that Kenya kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and was never in the game. Only K oteino made 56 runs and Steve tikolo top scored with 58 runs in 75 balls with 6 4’s and 1 six. Kenya were able to make 235 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the 50 overs.

India won the game by 94 runs.
