India were Beaten By the Zimbabweans in ICC world cup 1999

In the 8th match of the ICC cricket world cup, India was against the Zimbabwe. This game was played on Grace Road, Leicester, England on 19th May, 1999. India clearly holds the upper hand in this game but you can never underestimate a Zimbabwe team.

But after that Grant flower and Paul Strang batted for a while but soon Paul Strang was out the individual score of 18 runs in 26 balls. Grant flower made 45 runs in 89 balls with 4 4’s and strike rate of 51 runs in 100 balls. His brother and Zimbabwe wicket keeper batsman Andy flower batted well and made the contribution of 68 runs in 85 balls with 2 4’s at the strike rate of 80 runs in 100 balls and skipper a Campbell also batted well for his well made 24 runs in 29 balls. Zimbabwe made 252 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets.

India needs to get 253 runs in 50 over’s to win this game.

India batted well but in intervals only and lost their way in the middle over’s and were bowled out for 249 runs in only 45 over’s and were lost by 3 runs with still 5 over’s to spare. Grant flower was the pic of bowlers with 1 wicket in 10 over’s conceding only 33 runs. And therefore Grant flower was awarded man of the match.
