India beat New Zealand in 2nd Odi played in bilateral series in 1999

New Zealand toured India to play a 5 match One day International series. 2ND match of the series was scheduled to play on Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Hyderabad, India on 8th Nov, 1999.

Both teams were playing very good cricket at that time, so it will be very interesting to see them battle in a bilateral series. India won the toss and opts to bat first, so New Zealand will bowl first and will try to chase whatever India posts for them. India Started very well and posts the total of 376 runs in 50 over’s at just the loss of 2 wickets, with the contributions of Skipper S Tendulkar who made 186 runs in 150 balls with 20 4’s and 3 sixes at the strike rate of 124 runs in 100 balls and Rahul D who made 153 runs in 153 balls with 15 4’s and 2 sixes at the strike rate of 100 runs in 100 balls.

New Zealand was required to score 377 runs in 50 over’s to win this 2^nd ODI.

New Zealand started poorly and lost half their side and 5 wickets at teams score of only 122 runs in 18 over’s and were kept losing wickets at regular intervals in the game and were bowled out for 202 runs in 33 over’s and Only Scot S top scored with 43 runs in 52 balls with 64’s and strike rate of 83 runs in 100 balls.

India won the game by 174 runs and Sachin T was adjudged as Man of the Match for his knock of 186 runs.
