Incorrect and abundant antibiotics use can leave us defenseless against infections.

World Health Organization states that the world’s antibiotics are used too much. In various countries, studies are showing that antibiotics are used to treat approximately one in three patients receiving treatment in the hospital and up to 50 percent cases, antibiotics are administered irrationally.

Abundant use of antibiotics is irrational; bacteria are becoming resistant to them. Scientist Alexander Fleming who discovered antibiotics has warned that abundant use of antibiotics can cause much wrong to humanity.

At the beginning of this century, due to the very rapid increase in bacterial resistance, the world’s doctors and scientists are worried about the lack of effective antibiotics. In recent years, more and more countries report that discovered resistant bacteria to all antibiotics. The scientists intensively are looking for new antibiotics, and particularly emphasized the importance of responsible consumption of antibiotics.

The wasteful prescription of antibiotics and the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance affect all countries. Already a few years ago announced anxiety due to the fact that the public can once again remain defenseless against infections as it was before discovery of antibiotics – becomes a real threat.

Everyone should remember that we are responsible for ensuring that antibiotics would be effective. Let’s use antibiotics only if your doctor prescribed them and use by instructions. Do not do keep antibiotics for self-medication and do not forget that antibiotics treat only bacterial diseases, not viral infections such as colds, flu.

The main task of the doctor is appropriate to prescribe antibiotics and the patient – to carry out the doctor’s instructions and in no way to treat yourself as you want. We need to remember the need to prevent the spread of infections among people caused by antibiotic-resistant organisms. Often it is enough just to follow basic rules of hygiene.

Not a man gets used to the antibiotics but bacteria which are too many in the environment and in the body. When antibiotics are used especially often and without the need, people get used to them and they become ineffective.

This is very dangerous because to beat the bacteria we need stronger antibiotics. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria cause diseases which course is more severe and treatment is prolonged.

    • it is not totally true, people are more educated about meds now and they learn what they are taking and for what, they learn by the info the company wrote
also from the online real health sites, that help people to understand what they are taking for what, and how and when,
i guess now we can to some limit save on doctors consult and take meds by ourselv. im not saying that is totally should be the way, but to some limit we can do it, doctors do give some meds only to get money from the hospital or the place that they are working for, so you can do depend on you to some limit thanks to the net
