Education is Malala Yousafzai’s courage, Einstein’s perspective, Steve Job’s innovation, Nelson Mandela’s determination. It is that single most powerful tool that is capable of changing the world.
Education is the gem which makes life ornamental. It is education which makes a human out of a man! It’s not just valencies and formulas; it is manners, etiquettes and soft-skills.
For a society which stands on the brink of getting crushed under the pangs of evils like terrorism, poverty and inequality; education is that golden ray of hope that can pull us through everything. Without education we’ll be out of breath bereft of human rights, civil liberties and societal freedom. Being the inevitable necessity of the society, education teaches us how to tell apart between right and wrong.
Education instils us with hope and confidence and becomes an incessant source of support. One gets to realise his self-worth and capabilities which otherwise can go unnoticed. Gems of people are lost without education, the reason being that they never get a platform to realise their talents. Imagine a world where an Einstein is born but never educated; never realising the power of the great mind he possesses! Greatest reformers, scientists and artists are a gift of education. We must not confuse education only with what is taught in the classroom. Real education comes after we have learned the syllables and consonants.
A whole new horizon broadens in front of our eyes once the light of education flushes through our veins, cutting deeper into our mind and our subconscious. The ability to perform, learn, communicate and empathise; all are gifts of education. Education makes us distinguish between our needs and desires, our fears and abilities, our zeniths and doldrums, our feelings and logic. It tears apart the blindfolds of illiteracy and dependence and gives us the wings of self-belief and knowledge.
Prosperity of a nation is entirely based upon the quality of its citizens. Uneducated and misguided citizens cannot realise their duties and help the nation to move ahead in terms of growth and self-sufficiency. Educated civilians know what’s right and what’s not. They understand the importance of paying taxes, obeying laws and little duties such as keeping their country clean. Education pays off in a magnanimous manner in the long run. It transforms a nation, a complete generation into a self-dependant and prospering cohort.
Education is a geometrically progressing tool for bringing a massive change in the society. One educated person can inject the zeal into thousands of hearts. One educated hand can help hundred other hands to read and write!
Realising the fact that we can read and write must make us feel that we are extremely lucky. It’s expected of us, but more than an expectation it is our duty to spread the light everywhere, even in the darkest and remotest corners of our nation. A good school, pens, paper and pencils are a far-fetched dream for some. Help them realise this dream of theirs. And if you are blessed to have a chance to study, do not squander it!
