I have voted for raees

Recently I have watched two Bollywood blockbusters, Kaabil and Raees, back 2 back last week. If one overlooks gratuitous violence which saturates both films, one can better appreciate subliminal messages embedded in both.Raees is old fashioned bha film involving murders, vamps, choreographed dances and a hero wearing great deal of surma in his eyes. It is a portrait of evil. The protagonist wants more. More money, and more power, and more love, more respect also. At any cost. There is also half hearted attempt to project him as a Gujarati Robin Hood.But the hood is what he stays.

It is a film about an archetypal baddie who can shoot dead just about anybody who crosses his path even a goon standing behind him.
If Raees is badass movie, Kaabil resembles a winter speciality from Punjab, gajak sweet, tough, with lot to chew on. The hero here is cunning and quick, sightless and sentimental. He is also capable of most imaginative violence. But only when provoked big time, like when local goonda destroys his marriage. This is being sold to audiences as revenge thriller in which the mind sees more than the eyes can.

Both two movies feature guys with great abs. Both movies make sure the abs stay covered. Huh

Closer home, citizens are recovering from the Budget Dhamaka. I would call it a Raees budget very baniya, going by the shrewd manipulations. And with plenty of miyaanbhai daring if you count the slicing, and all chopping bludgeoning. Lots of blood on abattoir floor, just like that grisly scene in Raees.And his kurta pajama bundi outfit could not possibly compete with Shah Rukh Khan’s bodycon Pathani suits. But dialoguebaazi was equally impressive.

Movies need aggressive, and crafty plots designed to destabilise, distract and destroy dushman. We have identical plots in real life, too.new world order presents a grim scenario where chaos anarchy dominate. And There is confusion, frustration the rage across borders and also cultures as people struggle to grasp new developments of most odious kind. Much as most global citizens may want it,The wall he is building is more than a wall between them.

Shah Rukh Khan returns in and as Raees, he is a golden hearted mobster who does bad things for good cause. It is role constructed to grab back his pole position, and to that end Shah Rukh Khan strains at fulfilling every single point of In and As trope. He sings and dances, he fights and romances.And he also tries to fulfill the outlines of a character.
And that’s where film gets stuck, between two stools of restraint and full blown tamasha. In and As SRK is as familiar as he has ever been, despite the trimmings added on to induce freshnes the gold rimmed glasses, kohled eyes, and deliberate delivery, and that the Scarface moment full of guns, arcing teh bullets and spraying blood which all actors dream of in bollywood.
He has play a strong role.And he try to do a different role.That’s why I have voted for him.I have chooser Raees over Kaabil.
