How To Laze Around And Do Nothing And Just Relax

All of us have been taught not to be lazy and have been told being lazy is not a good thing. We have been told things like if one is lazy he will not be able to do anything in life. He will not get proper work or employment. He will be treated with contempt by the society. He will not be welcome in productive places. He will be always branded in life as a lazy fellow. The parents of such children would keep what their child would do when he or she grows up to be an adult an how they would face life and what they would do and how they would earn a living too.

 

These worries compound when the children do not perform activities which usually children of that age do and other children are doing everything perfectly. They draw comparisons with them and would end up worrying more. So the end result of what we are fed in our minds is laziness is very bad and is not desirable quality which one should possess. But here I would like to share some ways of how on can laze around, do nothing and just relax and also benefit from the same sometimes.

 

Let us take the first case what one can do when one feels tired and would want to take a day off. If you have been working many months nonstop and are tired fatigued and drained and sapped of all the energy and zest for life. Laziness or doing nothing can work as a detoxifier. You can just take a day off  you can treat it as an antidote for all the fatigue you have. Just do nothing in the house do not even read the news paper or view television or the internet and the mobile. Just laze around and spoil yourself treat it as a well earned holiday after the slogging you have gone through eat good fruits keep everything at hands reach eat and spoil yourself.

 

Do not think about work or office or any other house work too as that will again turn into work mode which defeats the purpose of having a holiday and lazing around. Try it out and see it works wonders on the mind and the body many are already doing this. You can then share this procedure with others too. You can tell yourself in this case that if there is no pain there is no gain and the gain is the well deserved rest and lazing around you are doing and spoiling yourself which you deserve after what you have gone through.

 

In the second case there are times in the office or the place of work when the business is not there as it is lean season. Do not strain your brain and worry about where you have to get that one business from or how you should get more business. Just think about the times in the year you have worked day in and day out and have even burnt midnight oil.

 

Tell yourself this lean season is a time when you are supposed to just laze around and recoup yourself from the physical and mental exhaustion which you have gone through during those times and that such times are not far off when you will have to perform the same role successfully again in the coming times and you have to be ready for that. So this is the well deserved break at office you are getting and just laze around and do some back office jobs like updating the files, finishing and pending emails, keeping in touch with your clients, sending a greeting to your customers arranging all the documents which are not in are order as the same cannot be done during the peak season.

 

Go for some refresher online courses to improve your skills so that you will be an efficient worker when you start working the next time and thus improve your productivity and increase the output too. Be lazy and at your pace focus on the positives of what you are doing and be ready for the next cycle of running around which is round the corner. This way you are lazy and are also being efficient in what you are doing. Employers like such employees and the attitude which they possess. Sensible employers spend time with you at such times and share a cup of coffee too as even they need a break. All are in the same boat in the organization.

 

In the third case if you are a homemaker and all others in the house have left for the job or for school or college and you find you have nothing to do. You may feel you are wasting your time. Do not feel that way as you have been running around since the early morning continuously nonstop till the time everyone leaves and thus leaving no me time for yourself which is required. This running around rapidly at a fast pace in a few hours takes a toll on the body.

 

The family members who have gone out will again start arriving from around three in the evening and you have to start the process again and repeat what you had repeated in the morning,  so give those two to three hours to yourself and do nothing and just laze around and pamper yourself. This is nothing to feel ashamed of and it is just dues for the tough job which you are putting.

 

Others may  or may not understand this but it does not matter who thinks what it is you body and your health which is important. If you are fine then things can go properly in the family round the clock. So just laze around and speak with friends on phone if you like or simply go to sleep as it recharges your batteries for the evening schedule which will come in a few hours. Here too you are using you laziness in a effective and positive way. Which is a very good and positive thing.

 

In the fourth case if you happen to be a student and have finished the academic year and have slogged for the whole year. Tell your parents you will not be studying much during the holidays and would deserve a well deserved break. Do not do anything related to studies or do something if it is required in a limited way. Choose some other healthy activity like indoor games or some new skill set which will enhance the quality of your education which you are receiving or going to receive  from the forthcoming academic year.

 

This will allow you to use your time productively. On some days you feel you do not want to go and just stay at home. If that is the feeling you get just tell your parents and take a break and spend time simply lazing around doing what you like or better just lie down and do not do anything and close your eyes and think of all the positive moments and the good things you learnt last year. This help you get the feel good factor and allow you to focus later after sometime for the days ahead and the coming academic year.

 

Now you will start looking forward for the same as who does not want good or positive things in ones life. So just laze around and carry out this process and you will feel rejuvenated and rearing to go. While it is normal for any human to be lazy it is a quality which if used the right way can produce very useful results for the individual to improve himself or herself individually, academically, professionally, personally and in many other spheres by increasing the alertness and  mindfulness of the individual and play a great role in focusing and guiding the individual to reach new heights which all of us aspire to reach.

 

You can also learn of these techniques and teach these to you children and others in a productive way too. The bottom line is use laziness in a effective way and efficient way and see the effect on your mind, body and soul. Best of luck in your efforts.

    • It is right to pamper yourself once in a while to give it a rest after long hours/days of working. It helps relieve stress and makes the body and mind rejuvenated to face reality again.

      • Well said if we do something which people generally construe as bad in a positive way which will help our health and allow us to be more active and work well in the long run it would serve the purpose. As only the person struggling will know what toll it takes on ones health.

        If we face reality repeatedly again and again it becomes very difficult on ones life, health and mind. Hence these arrangements to spoil ourselves ones in a while will help us a lot in our relations with our family, friends and others too. Thanks for expressing your opinion on this topic.

    • One needs 'recharging' really. As the saying goes: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", especially in the 3rd case, that of a homemaker. It is not easy to be a stay at home mom. You wake up early and sleep late. As a homemaker, you are on your toes from sun up to sun down. You do not have leave benefits, no off duty, no overtime pay, and will be shout at if you reprimand anyone of your housemates.
