»The very first thing that you must do is practise drawing your main cartoon character/characters in different positions and emotions.
»Now think of all the other extra characters that you will need. And then practise drawing them too.
»Now think of the names,personalities,backgrounds and any other info about all your characters. And write it down. ( Note that not all characters need to portray info. )
»Name your comic book and decide what it’s about. Also decide in which book category it will fit in best. Maybe it’s non-fiction, fantasy, action, thriller, drama, manga ect.
»Practise drawing the scenes and backgrounds of your comic. Decide from what scene and character/characters you want to begin with and with what scene and/or character/characters you’ll end your comic with.
»Decide on the different speech bubbles that you’ll use and where to best place them. Square or circle bubble for conversations and a starry bubble for shouting. A cloudy bubble is usually used for the characters thoughts.
»Now create your comic. It’s also important to try and stick to good spelling and grammar.
»When you have completed your comic make sure to proof read it for any errors. When you’re ready, let one of your friends or family members read your comic too.
»Once you’re satisfied with your comic then you can apply at a Trademark and Copyright lawyer to get your work trademarked. They will explain all the procedures that you should follow.
»When that is done then you can scan and upload your comic to your pc. You can create and colour your book cover and content just like you want. There’s lots of premium or free art software to choose from. Some people don’t even use scanners anymore. They draw on touch screen devices.
»You can apply for your own isbn barcode in your country or you can get a free barcode from most online publishing websites.
»Please note that your colour quality for ebooks must be different from the quality for your printed books.
