How DO You Beat the Monday Blues?

Remember the song “Manic Monday” by the Bangles? I guess the millennials do not heard the song yet, or have you heard it on some trivia radio or in Youtube?

It is about the woman who hates to get up of her bed because it’s Monday and she will be late for work.

It is such a common scenario when people have to rush for work early Monday mornings. They would always wish that the weekend; the Saturdays and Sundays would never end. It’s only a wish, but the reality is that one has to fight that slugginess, get out f bed and go to work!

How Do You Beat the Monday Blues?

Poor Monday, it looks like it is the most hated day of the week compared to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But to have a decent living, one has to flex his muscles, move and go to work.

The best thing to do is to have some exercise, just make some body stretches to waken up the senses, to make your sleepy head alert.

Have coffee or tea or whatever hot drink you wanted in the morning; even a glass of water is best. Have a warm shower, or bath. This will refresh you and make your body alert and ready for the day’s work.

Wear your uniform or your comfortable working clothes, also the shoes should be comfortable to wear for walking in case you commute going to work. It is nice if you have your own car or a service vehicle takes you to your work.

Before leaving, have a healthy breakfast that will keep you alert; not the ones that will make you sleepy you might want to go back to your bed! You can bring healthy snacks like a whole wheat bread with lots of vegetables that go along with your sandwich filling.

Having a nice snack will energize you and make you productive; it will also prevent hunger pangs which will lead to overeating during lunchtime.

Think of positive thoughts while traveling to your office. Think of your nice officemates who would also be happy to see you and tell about how their weekend was.

Having a positive attitude will let you go over that Monday blues feeling. Then you will be excited to wait for Friday to come and then the much-awaited weekend again!

    • That is true. Most people who have the 5 weekdays to work, hates it.

But honestly, I love it. I do love Saturdays and Sundays too. But during those days I see to it that I had my relaxation and that includes visiting my parents every other Saturday. I clean our bedroom, change the beddings and after that, I really would take a rest.
Sometimes, I would go to the mall alone. I don't like tagging my husband because he complains that I roam around the mall so long. But that's what makes me happy, roaming around the mall and buy whatever there is a need to buy.

If I will not be going to the mall, I just stay at home with my hubby. He will be at his desktop outside our bedroom , while I am inside our bedroom, watching TV or sometimes listening to CDs while doing online blogging such as here and myLot.

Sundays would be going to church and further rest for myself.

Having done these relaxing activities, I ready myself for Monday. I shampoo and condition my hair and take a bath in the evening. I choose the bag to use and fix my things on it. I choose what to wear for Monday and hang it already outside of the cabinet.

Hubby and I go to bed early on Sunday evenings and have a happy conversation before finally going to bed.

I am excited for Monday because it is a challenging day. When I am able to finish my job in a shorter period, I congratulate myself silently and come here and to myLot as a reward. :)

      • That's nice, you are very organized so you do not have to rush during Monday mornings. People should really be like that; they should plan things ahead so there's no cramming and no troubles and stress during Monday mornings.
