You always don’t need to splurge for a classy interior. And who needs expensive and seasonal decor items when it’s the ever-so-dear and familiar warmth that make your house resemble a home? Whether you have just moved into a new space or want to redo your old abode, a splash of color and the right selection of decor articles can do wonders to give that carefully done careless touch to an interior that looks like people have lived in it.
To start with, putting everything in order is not a necessity, rather should be avoided. You don’t want your guests to feel like they have entered a strict disciplinarian’s habitat where sitting straight is mandatory and not touching anything is unwritten but understood. On the contrary, you would want to help your guests lighten up, yourself relax after a long day at work and let your children ‘feel at home’. Therefore, the best possible way would be to start with inviting colors that give a warm glow to your interiors.
Earthy tones like browns, burnt oranges and golden not only up the style quotient but also warm your heart. Yellow, reds and oranges are considered warm colors and can brighten up any home on bleak wintry days. You can brighten up the seating area with cushions in these colors or use curtains to add some color to the room. The furniture can be rearranged to create cozy, intimate areas for some conversation in front of a coffee table or a corner. Combined with fluffy, bright cushions and throw pillows, there is no way one can resist plopping down in one of these spots with a cup of hot coffee or for some relaxation after a day’s work with a book of your choice in hand.
Avoid the winter blues by infusing your spaces with pops of cheery colors. A bright throw or a boldly patterned pillow will do the trick, and will ensure your neutral spaces don’t look stark and cold like the space outside your windows. Brightly colored elements can also last into the spring and summer, so you will get more praise for decorating your space right.
Apart from color, try focusing on special fabrics of curtains and sofa covers for the cozy feel. Use soft and cozy fabrics for your sofas and windows. It’s not pleasant to walk on cold floors. Rugs and carpets make a home feel a lot more inviting and warm. Use natural elements such as wood, stone, flowers, leaves and pine cones to decorate the rooms. Get them all in a bunch and place them in a basket or use twigs to make a nice centerpiece for the dining table. The mantel is also a nice feature.
It’s not only a person that smells good looks attractive but same is true for homes too. To make your home feel extra cozy and inviting, use cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans and other beautiful scents. You can also light scented candles for a fragrant ambiance. Best of luck!

You can buy the simplest home items that would make your home stand out very much, so don't think it's just all about color
Yes that's what I have written about in this article as well. To be very precise, it's the combination of colors, decor articles, etc. that matters in the long run. And simplicity always helps to stand out amidst the clutter.
OK! You've convinced me. A warm and cozy home does not have to cost a lot! :)
