I have been blogging for almost 5 years. It is for fun. It is information sharing. It is a personal commentary on the trending news, in a comment to another comment. That is a reaction to reaction so to speak. Thoughts are flowing like a living water in the river of nowhere.
My humble RandomThoughts‘ views surge which I am afraid Big B might be misunderstood it as a fake traffic, manipulated by a program to produce inorganic visit. Whatever it is, I don’t care. My blog site is not for business. It is not for money through a click to cash or pay to click. I don’t have that vision in online writing job.
My blog site is just an avenue for my friends and followers who live abroad and they want to have an update of what is going in and out of the country where I live. I give them the update of our tourism-led festivities like the annual Pasalamat week-long merriment and revelry as a grateful gesture of the bounties which our small city has received due to the industry and creativity of our people.
Rays of Success
My blog site gradually has earned respect and recognition from other bloggers, from a group of prolific writers around the world. One of the members of the said group of the online writer had included me in their group. My writing style has been improved. I learned from them as I keep on reading their posts almost every night which I used to be in my handy friend, an Acer laptop.
My two blog sites were recommended to a national awarding body and luckily out of so many recommendees, RandomThoughts and Tumandok got the prestigious regional award for the Best Lifestyle Blog and the Best Arts and Culture Blog respectively. I received personally the awards together with my youngest son at the city where historical places and events were famous for. It is one of the cities in our island.
Friends all over the country and some parts of the world wasted no time of congratulating me for such writing prowess which didn’t leave to be tapped and acknowledged and recognized. My will power of writing hadn’t stopped.
The Big Twist
I threw my hat to a writing online for a penny. My fellow bloggers had so many sites recommended. Since I am new to that adventure of writing, I said to myself, “to write is to choose”. So I picked some sites to join. In a few weeks to months, I received my first bucks of earnings through my PayPal. I kept on writing and writing until something unusual did happen. My more than $500 accumulated earnings ready for redemption. Yes, you have read it right. Redemption for nothing. The concerned site had announced to close shop.
Yes, before it is paying. Paying us on time. But in the long run, it has paid us nothing. I have no remorse for I have not invested a penny. Instead, it is paying me a penny in the first place. I tried another site, but as an amateur, as I am, it had announced its premature stoppage of its paying system. What else can I do? I’m just thinking aloud.

I just write because it pays off and it keeps my brain working. I don't have any other agenda. It is also fun and entertaining activity. I do expect to be paid, for a fact I was already ready to give up from all writing webpages and I do believe that it will come a time when I won't be interested to participate in any.
That is what I am having today either to continue writing on my own blog site or to write on site for online writing for a pay. I am so divided to that situation for I have followers, friends who keep following my own blog posted on my own site. In either case, I would have to do what is practical and what is productive and lucrative for I want to earn a money too for my writing efforts. I write for my friends. I write for a pay. I write both writing opportunities for mone or not.
I write as a hobby and for fun on my blogs but for writing sites, I do expect to be paid. If I have to write for nothing then I would better concentrate on my blogs. When we are working on writing sites, we are abiding by their rules and regulations and working hard to earn pennies. I would hate to see the hard work go in vain at the end.
You are right our pain, our hardship, our time and effort all go to nothing if our writing efforts and not compensated if we are not paid. I have recalled that I have shifted to writing online for some of my online writers are boasting themselves that we have earned a bucketful of dollars by writing to sites. I was tempted for it was free. By a mere registration and submitting topics in your own best capacity to write, you are already in and be entitled to get paid. But my expectation has also gone in vain. Now, I have a lesson. I am now choosy. I write, therefore, to choose. To be well aware of the writing site for pay.
At least you still have the copyright to the articles.
I have been rewriting my old Bubblews posts to reach the minimum word count of 300 here.
It is still better and easier than writing from scratch, and I think you can do the same.
There is no point crying over spill milk, and since you have already written those content, you can decide to publish wherever you like.
That is a good suggestion, @scheng1. I will try to do it,but I couldn't access my Bubblews articles. They seem to be all gone. I couldn't recover them anymore.
Writing is my hobby ever since i was still young but never did i imagine to write an article but what i love to do is to write a romance novel which im very fond of doing for it is my first love! To write my own love stories to make! But i think having a blog and skills to write is much more profitable if you can turn it into a money making cash! There are some bloggers earns thousands of dollars a month working at home and driving massive traffic on their blog by simply writing a product review and joining on affiliate marketing to earn commission which in my opinion will survive over the long run for the company have been in the online market industry for almost seventeen years online and pays their affiliate billions dollars without any delay and bankruptcy.
