Recently I had found out that eating crunchy cornflakes is REALLY plain BORING , not only for my kids, I felt the same way too.
We had tried several breakfast ideas:
I didn’t know that cornflakes can be made spicy until I tried out this recipe; Honey Spice Cornflakes
It is a combination of roasted ground peanuts, fried anchovies , blended with cornflakes and drizzle over with honey.
Roast peanuts and fried anchovies are popular snacks and side ingredients for Nasi Lemak ( Coconut Rice Milk), which is one of our Asian staple breakfast meal.
Surprisingly, they also turned plain cornflakes into a delicious and tasty snack that everyone in my household couldn’t resist.
In this recipe, chilli paste is required to produce the spicy flavor.
However, I had opt out the chilli paste since my kids couldn’t stand it.
They love the Honey Non-Spicy Cornflakes!
As for hubby and me, we preferred the original recipe that comes with the spice.
If you enjoy crunchy, crispy , sweet and spice snacks, you should try this cornflakes recipe which I am sure you will not regret!
Let’s get back to the recipe and start snacking for breakfast or teatime break!
2 tbsp olive oil
100g ground peanuts
100g anchovies-washed and drained
1 tbsp chilli paste ( you can add more if you desire extra spicy)
1 clove garlic, chopped finely
2 cups of original cornflakes
Yield: 3 persons
Cornflakes had became part of my kids morning breakfast meal since they love the ideas of mixing different ingredients into the plain boring cereal.
You can add cornflakes into:
Although some say cornflakes isn’t a healthy option for breakfast cereal, you can add in mixed fruits, nuts and seeds with fresh milk for a nutritious breakfast meal.
Consuming cornflakes alone is bad for your teeth as it gets stuck in between the teeth causing cavities.
Cornflakes is part of your kid’s breakfast meal, not entirely compulsory taken daily.
Eat moderately on alternate days .
Alternatively, mix cornflakes with bran and muesli for more vitamins and minerals.

This recipe seems crispy. I am feeling hungry now and crave to take a bite on this newly introduced recipe.I think this is not hard to prepare by a an amateur cook hehehehhe.
I don't make any recipes with corn flakes. But I sometimes sprinkle corn flakes on top of my ice cream. It's tasty and fun! This recipe sounds delicious. :)
It is a good recipe for the readers and also for domestic women may make it for their children easily. My mon makes such as
Crushed cornflakes are coated with a sticky honey butter mixture, and then spooned into cute mini cases topped with coloured sprinkles before baking. After cooled, the cornflakes will harden into one piece in the cup like a cookie.
There are various recipes out there, and some call for half honey and half sugar while some (like this recipe) uses only honey. I personally tried both variations and everyone prefer the version without sugar, as it is less sweet and the extra honey also enables the cornflakes to bind better together.
Ingredients:
Cornflakes - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 4
Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
Peanuts - 1 tsp
Salt - a pinch
Method:
Heat the Ghee in a Pan, add peanuts and roast it, till it turns into golden colour. slow the flame. Now add curry leaves and roast it. add chilli powder and salt and mix well.
Now toss the cornflakes with spices from the pan. toss it well.
Store it in an air-tight container.
You can add this to soup's. also you can have these spiced cornflakes with sambhar rice or rasam rice.
This is a very quick post. In my Next post, i will share the vegetable soup i prepared, to which i added these cornflakes.
