Home Food Recipe Time: Making Sour and Spicy Masala Chillies

We may eat at expensive restaurant. We may eat at that Japanese Sushi Restaurant that has been much talked about on a Food Blog, or a Food Blog App(yes they are also now becoming more commonplace).

We might also have some great paranthas and other tasty stuff like Daal(Pulses) or Butter Chicken(Do I need to translate this?).

Yet all these cannot replace the joy and fun that we have of tasting something made in our Home kitchens. These things are healthier (as we know what ingredients and what quality is being used, but this could be doubtful at outside eating joints).

These things are tasty too. But even more than that, these homemade things have the love of our Mothers, Sisters or Wifes.

So on these lines is a recipe that was recommended by my wife:

This is

“Sour and spicy Masala Chillies: Eat with your Veggies or perhaps add something in dessert with these!”

1)Take 20 Red Chillies(also called as Achari Mirch in Hindi).

2)Wash and wipe dry the above chillies taken in 1) with a dry cloth.

3)Slice the chillies in 2 parts, and remove seeds.

4)In a Pan, pour oil- preferably mustard oil approximately 4 Tablespoons.

5)Add 2 Teaspoon Cumin seeds.

6)1 Teaspoon Turmeric, and add salt to taste.

7)In the Pan, add Red Chillies, and cover for 2 minutes.

8)Open the Pan, add Powdered Green Mango- approximately 1 Tablespoon.

9)Add 2 Teaspoon Garam Masala(a mix of many masalas), 2 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder, add more if you want it even more spicier.

10)Cover the Pan again and heat it for 1 more minute, checking that it does not stick to the bottom of the Pan. 

May be some of you already make this or something similar, but do share your experience.
