Here Is An Introduction To Me

Hello to everyone here at Literacy Base. I thought I would give it a try here after seeing in a few posts over at myLot that some members there are also here.

Anyway, about me. I live in west central Indiana where I can experience all four seasons within one week. I am older than the hill that the dirt is on. I have 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. I play with yarn nearly every day and I go to knitting group at the local yarn store twice a week. Most likely I will write a little bit about my knitting and crocheting experiences here.

I spend most of my time here at home playing with yarn. I like to knit and crochet all kinds of things. I have made sweaters, afghans, shawls, hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, hooded scarves, bath mitts, dish cloths, hand towels, wash cloths, and other items. My favorite yarn is alpaca wool but it is very expensive so I try to wait until there is a big markdown before I buy that yarn. My favorite items to make are shawls. There are so many pretty designs of them I don’t have time to make them all! The first time I knitted a pair of socks was not all that much fun. After I’ve knitted about 5 pairs, though, it has gotten easier.

I am pretty much retired from the work force. Although that could change because of the current presidential thing. I might try to get at least a part time job to supplement my monthly social security benefit.

What do I use here to find out the number or words or characters I have used? I’ve tried to submit 3 times now. Yay!  I’m hoping that some of you will like my writings. I guess it will take some getting used to around here, especially with the requirements. I’m sure I’ll be frustrated at first and hopefully will catch on soon.
