INDIA is a land of Treasure. The thirst for its immense wealth made foreign rulers to invade and plunder it. The Mohammad of Ghazni invaded India 17 times within a short span of 25 years without any aim of ruling the land. His aim had been to plunder it of its wealth. In 1025 AD he attacked Somnath temple. The Somnath temple was very famous for its treasures. After facing stiff resistance for 3 days he could finally enter inside the temple and got wealth worth 2, 00, 00, 000 Dinars. In 1739 Nadir Shah entered Delhi and got a lot of Gold, Diamonds, Rubies, other precious stones including the Peacock Throne besides an amount of Rs.2.5 million as retribution.
