Hair Fall Control – Tips and Ideas

Hair fall is one of the most common problems we are all facing. Of the many remedies that are available to us, I have experimented and found the ones that work best for me.

Hair Oil – I mix coconut oil with castor oil in equal portions and add 5 – 10 drops of peppermint oil. Coconut oil helps make the hair thicker and longer, castor oil helps accelerate blood flow to the scalp and peppermint oil eliminates dandruff and dryness of the scalp. Apply this hair oil mixture at least twice a week.

Hair Mask – Mix a raw egg white with one tablespoon honey and apply the mask on clean damp hair, leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse it off, do this on a monthly basis. The egg white helps strengthen brittle hair and honey helps to smoothen the hair.

Everyday Tips:

  • Try not to tie your hair too tight, it pulls on the roots and makes it weaker.
  • Use a silk or satin pillow case to reduce friction.
  • Try not to sleep with open hair; they are more prone to tangle. Try braiding your hair if it is long enough or a top bun works well too.
  • Comb it from bottom to top to untangle, there will be less breakage.
  • Apply Aloe Vera to the scalp a day after you wash your hair. It balances the ph levels.
  • You can replace peppermint oil with rosemary oil if you want. Rosemary oil promotes hair growth.
  • Try to wash hair with cold water; hot water tends to dry out the hair. (Unless the weather is cold…we don’t want to get sick, do we?)
  • Try not to change your hair products. Pick the ones that work the best for you and stick to them.

Everything I use is completely natural, so you should be safe if you choose to give it a try.
